It was a couple weeks after your return; Kocho had left, Mitsuri had gone on two missions and come back rather quickly, and you stayed at home. You ran into town for dinner whenever your mentor wasn't home, typically eating ramen or occasionally sushi."Hm?" Mitsuri looked up from whatever she was writing when you walked into the room, wiping the sleep from your eyes.
"Hey, Mitsuri." She looked dazzling this morning. "God, it's so unfair. How do you wake up drop-dead-gorgeous everyday?" You asked, pouring yourself a cup of tea. The sweet smell of it teased you until you took a sip from it.
The sun wasn't yet up, though soon it would rise. You looked outside a window and watched as the sun peeked over the horizon, making the morning dew sparkle on the grass outside. You sighed and took another drink. Today would be a good day for training.
"Aw, thank you, Y/n." Mitsuri blushed and smiled. "That's very sweet of you to say! I don't deserve you!"
"Nonsense. I think you deserve all the good things in the world." You set your cup down and sat across from her. She did look particularly pretty today. Her hair was freshly braided, the outline of her face was highlighted in the sunrise's light, and her green eyes looked very vivid. She blinked and smiled before returning to her work.
"What'cha writing about?" You craned your neck to see.
"Do you remember the notes on the Hashira I showed you a while back?"
"Mmhmm?"
"I'm adding you to it. What would you say your love language is? What about your fighting style? Are you good with confrontation?"
"One: No clue. Two: Same as yours, I guess. Except it's less developed. And lastly, absolutely not."
She nodded, sticking her tongue out as she scrawled down a couple of things. She closed the book and slid it to the side. She propped her head up on her hands and looked at you, smiling.
"What?" You chuckled.
"You"re so pretty. I mean, how has Sanemi not noticed? You're absolutely stunning! Like- like... like snow on the tops of mountains when the light hits it perfectly, or how the cherry blossoms fall in a warm, comforting breeze!"
You smiled at her. "Aw, thank you. Gosh, I guess it's just a good day to be sappy, huh?" You made Mitsuri giggle.
Suddenly, her crow flocked down and landed on the table. "Hashira meeting! Hashira only!" It squawked. Mitsuri stood immediately and hurriedly got her things.
"I'll be back soon, Y/n! Stay safe! Write me a note if you go on a mission! There's food somewhere around here! Oh, and don't answer the door if anyone knocks! Okay, bye!" She waved and slammed the front door closed. You stared blankly at where she had stood for a moment, taken aback by the flurry of events that just happened.
Eventually, you got up and cleaned your dishes, deciding to go outside and do some physical exercise to help train.
Your exercise led you into the town at the base of Mitsuri's mountain, where you got some delicious sushi, and then back up to your home. You practiced your sixth form until you felt it was enough for the day and went to sleep.
This cycle continued until Mitsuri finally got home. Just as you were walking through the door from your walk in town, you noticed that she had finally arrived, Iguro accompanying her. "Oh, Y/n! You've met Iguro before, yes? Isn't he great?" She squeezed him and he looked away, slightly flustered.
