I thought being with Rei and Kaname was hard, but Akatsuki and Hanabusa both offered to get me a drink at the same time. And then Rei spoke up about it.

"So if you and Kaname aren't together, than you're with Kain, right?"

"She's with Aido." Kaname spoke up.

"But she..."

I cleared my throat. "She's with nobody."

Everyone went silent. "Do you really think I would be better with Kaname, Erika?"

"I barely remember being a vampire and I'm still learning myself. Between Hayato and Kaname, I'd much rather you be with Kaname. You are a Kuran after all."

"Technically, I'm an Aido."

"Let's not get technical bevause if you're doing that, you're technically a Hio. Kaname will take good care of you."

She nodded. I turned to go back, putting on the disciplinary committee patch to my sleeve. Hanabusa grabbed my hand. "Where are you going?"

"To do my job. Zero isn't able to do his job which leaves only Yuki. I have to protect her."

Akatsuki shook his head. "Who's going to protect you?"

"From my own brother? Trust me, you'll all know if Hayato attacks me. Until then, continue on doing school work."

"Eri!"

"Yami!"

I put my hand up. "Don't argue. You guys have your special person to take care of. I'm Kaname's assistant. I take care of Yuki Cross before anything else. Her life is more important. Boys, please trust me."

Akatsuki shook his head. "No way, I'm not letting you go out there alone. I spent so many years protecting you, I'm not letting you do this now."

"Akatsuki Kain." I bowed to him. "I thank you for everything that you've done over the years, and I'm sorry that this is the way it's turned out. I always assumed, and I shouldn't have. I had so much hate over the years, and I shouldn't have. Jealousy doesn't seem to suit me well, but I had the best life. I don't know what's going to happen next, but I'll keep my promise. I won't confront Hayato. But I can't promise he won't try to confront me. You don't understand how important Yuki is yet, but promise me something?"

"What is it?"

I stood up. "Don't stop being you, and don't stop protecting your family." I turned to Hanabusa. "And Hanabusa Aido, you keep fighting for what you believe in. Don't let anyone else tell you how to feel. Thank you for what you've told me and for making me feel better when I thought I was alone."

"Yami, you don't have to..."

"Hey her go." Kaname spoke up. "She's made up her mind."

"Thanks, Kaname."

He whispered. "Besides, it seems like she'd rather die an assistant than a pureblood."

I went out and found Yuki. She had a vampire with her. It was already happening. The voice I knew well. I shouted.

"Yuki! What's going on?"

"I'm just talking with someone. Why don't you come meet him, Erika? He's a new student. What was your name?"

"Hayato. And you're Erika?"

I stayed in the shadows. "Are you night class or day class? Because night class students should be at the school and day class students should be in their dorms."

"Night class."

I bit my lip. "Yuki, let's go."

"But I need to get him to class."
