Kaname came to my classroom. The teacher wasn't exactly happy. "What is this about, Mister Kuran?"

"Would you mind if I borrowed Erika for a bit?"

"Actually, I would mind you taking a student from me during important lessons. At this time, only family members may take a student."

I stood up, and started collecting my things. "Thank you, Mister Yagari."

"I didn't say you could leave."

I turned to him, eyes as dead as could be. "You said only family members could take me. Kaname is a family member of mine."

"Immediate."

"He's my older brother. I don't think it gets any more family than that."

He looked between Kaname and I. I walked over to Kaname and he put his hand on my head. Everyone was in shock. Nobody would have ever guessed that. There was whispers all around, but when he tried to look for the truth, he saw my eyes and knew it was true. No vampire tricks, just the pure and honest truth. Kaname and I were family.

"Alright... you can go then. Just be careful."

I was surprised when he ushered me into a car. We were driving somewhere. We pulled into a place I found familiar. It was a mansion that I used to be able to see from afar when I worked on the farm. The Aido Family estate. My family's estate. We walked in and everyone bowed. We were treated like royalty.

Mister Aido came rushing over and bowed. "Lord Kaname, Lady Erika, welcome to our humble abode. How may we serve you?"

"I wanted to show Erika the Aido household. This belonged to the very first Aido vampire. Lady Rei Aido."

"Her mother was Lady Hayami, correct? Lord Kuran's first wife?" Mister Aido asked.

"Yes. She was."

I looked at the walls. "It's beautifully sustained. As if I just walked into thousands of years ago."

"We tried to keep everything authentic. As vampires of the original Kuran clan, as a branch of the family, we truly do enjoy keeping the past alive."

Kaname smiled. "Nagamichi, I'll leave Erika in your very capable hands. Why don't you show her around and tell her of the history of this place?"

"Of course, my lord. Would you follow me, my lady?"

I followed him into a tea room. Three girls sat there drinking tea already. Their eyes all set to me. "Girls, this is Lady Erika Kuran, Lord Kaname's sister."

"Erika is fine. No need to be too formal here. Please, sir, continue about this history. I'm quite fascinated by it."

He nodded. "Tsukiko, you love the story. Why don't you tell it?"

The girl nodded. "This home was build by the first vampiric Aido, Lady Rei Aido. It was said that her mother, lady Hayami, was once a peasant around here, and lived at a village with a farm. The village died out and Lady Rei was intent on making good of it. She hated that people died, but her kindness came without hesitancy. She'd turn this land that once helped her mother, into one that cured her family's poverty. She wanted to make sure her parents would be proud of her."

"Do you know what family Lady Hayami was from?"

"It was never told."

I smiled down into my tea. "Lady Hayami Hio and her older brother, Lord Hayato Hio. Lady Hayami sadly passed away while pregnant with Rei, but Rei lived on, being raised by the first Kuran vampire, Lord Kaname Kuran I. The rich history of your family goes far beyond what you know."
