The Kai Havertz Dilemma

TT went back to his office with mixed emotions, rather feeling sad and depressed above everything else. He was quite afraid of what will happen in the next few days and months wondering if they will be able to survive such a tough situation ..
In the meantime, he decided to call Dr Carter to check on Kai, also to have the latest news before the press conference

TT: "Hi Dr Carter, I was calling to check on Kai's condition.."

Dr Carter: "Hey Mr Tuchel, yes sure, his heart rate is now stable and becoming stronger by the time but he is still in a deep coma.. I will asses his brain functions again shortly to determine if there is any improvement. This step is very important to know the prognosis and where we are heading ... also his parents are here and they are refusing to leave him, if you can convince them to I would be very thankful because as you know .. it will take a while"

TT: "Yes understood, I will do my best although I can imagine they wouldn't comply .. and can you please inform me with the prognosis as soon as you know? "

Dr Carter: "Yeah .. of course"

With that, TT ended the call and proceeded to call Kai's mother. He mainly wanted to see how she was dealing with things after their last call and if she is blaming anyone for what happened .. he remembers Kai mentioning before that she was a lawyer and that could be a big problem at the moment ..

TT: "Hi Mrs Havertz, first of all I would like to show how sorry I am for what you are going through .. Kai is like a son to me .. he is strong and I am sure he can pass this"

Mrs Havertz: "Thank you Mr Tuchel, but I know quite well what caused this (TT gulped) .. I got my boy here thinking it was an elite institution that would care for its players but apparently not ..not even close"

TT: "You have every right to be mad .. I would be too ... I mean .. if someone touched my daughters I would crush them ... and now with what happened and that aggresive clash with Dias .." (TT wanted to see if she can even be convinced that this clash might be the cause or at least a factor)

Mrs Havertz: "May God protect your daughters Mr Tuchel .. my son wasn't very lucky in terms of protection here (she neglected his accusations to Dias)"

TT:" He will be when he wakes up .. soon, fingers crossed .. (silence on both ends) .. is there anything I can help with ... "

Mrs Havertz: "No thank you, I can very well handle everything (still not giving him an answer as she knew from the start that this was his purpose).. I am sorry Mr Tuchel but I must go now"

She ended the call before giving TT any chance to tell her about their visiting hours or even to reply .. he assumed from the way she was talking that she has a suit in her mind that would most definitely be against Chelsea. His thoughts were interrupted by a sound from his phone, he looked to find a message from Marina saying: B ... he didn't like at all the fact that they are dragging Dias into this but he most certainly preferred it to seeing his own team collapsing ..

TT went to the conference room and by that time the boys at Mason's were fully awake and sitting in front of Chelsea's channel waiting for any news .. TT's press conference started moments after ..

Reporter 1:"Hi Mr Tuchel, would you first give us the latest updates on Kai's condition"

TT: "There is nothing new actually, he is becoming more stable but still in a deep coma, they will evaluate his brain later which is very important, hopefully it would be good news"

Reporter 2:"Hey Thomas, could you please clarify what was the reason behind this?"

TT:" I mean .. (he hesitated) .. I mean everything was televised .. Kai was not playing well so I decided to take him off, maybe he was feeling off maybe not, then after the clash his heart stopped .. I am not a doctor so I don't know what exactly happened, I mean medically"

Reporter 2:"but didn't the doctors clarify the exact reason?"

TT:" We are all now more interested in Kai's well being rather than what happened .. but everything will be known soon"

Reporter 3:" What would happen to Chelsea's next matches"

TT: "We will sit with the officials to reschedule"

Reporter 4: "How would you deal with such a loss in your squad ... as now even if he wakes up ..Kai is unlikely to ever play again, also many doctors speculated how this can be a result of certain drugs that are often abused by athletes to enhance ..."

TT (interrupting him angered by the question): "I am sorry .. are you a doctor or something ... of course not, you should be ashamed to say something like that .. we are talking about a human being here who is in a very critical situation, he has family, he has friends who are all suffering .. he is a sweet young boy who I myself consider a son (he said with tears starting to form in his eyes) .. so please have some respect and just pray for him to get better .. unbelievable"

TT stood up and left, not able to take anymore questions while everyone was left surprised by all the drama ..

Reecey:" I have never seen him like this before .. he seems .. terrified"

Timo: "Yes, he even skipped some questions and was giving short answers all over"

Chilly:" I don't think things are okay .. not at all"

Mase (still looking at the TV):" No ... (a pause) .. guys why didn't he clarify what actually happened .. it felt like he was pointing fingers to Dias"

Timo:" yeah .. do you actually think they can blame him?"

Chilli:" yeah .. I mean it can end with us vs them"

Mase: " ..and this is going to be bad"
