The monotonous buzzing of the air conditioning was the first thing to meet (y/n)'s ears as she emerged from the comfort of sleep. She was surprised even through her grogginess. The whole night, and she hadn't woken up once.
Kuro wasn't beside her though. The sheets were a crumpled mess in his place. The sight left a heavy feeling in her heart, but she closed her eyes, and shook her head as she sat up.
There wasn't any reason for him to leave her like he had before. Especially not here. She knew he was probably with Mahiru in the other room right now.
Though, she wondered what the time was. It wasn't like the servamp to be up early.
Still a bit tired she slumped back into the bed, letting out a huff as the warmth of the room nipped at her skin.
'Huh... it's been a while since I've felt warm..'
It would probably be a good idea to change her clothes. Though she wasn't sure if she really had the option. With that in mind (y/n) forced herself to get up, and for the first time she actually inspected the room she was in.
Surprisingly, the single dresser in the room had been equipped with clothes. Though most of them seemed more like a fit for Kuro than for her.
Typical. She doubted they even cared she was there, giving how they seemed to treat other subclass. But it didn't matter. The girl didn't care for the members of C3 either. She begrudgingly searched through the clothes until she found a part of sweats with a drawstring, and then threw on a t-shirt as well, tucking in the front. She thought for a moment about the rest of her wardrobe, but decided what she was wearing was enough for now. It's not like there was anyone to impress.

The sound of Mahiru and Kuro's voices beyond the door caused (y/n) to stop herself from leaving the room just yet. Part of her cursed her sensitive ears for making it so easy to listen in on them, but then again, maybe it was better to know that they were busy before she went out and bothered them. She placed herself back on the edge of the bed with a sigh, chewing her lip as she thought to herself.
'They sound pretty serious... whatever it is they're talking about at least...'
What had been going on that had Kuro up so early and actually attentive during a conversation? Had it not been for the occasional complaints she would hear, (y/n) would have suspected that someone was messing with her and it wasn't really Kuro. But despite how much he's grown, his laziness was still there. And Mahiru still scolded him for it.
That was slightly relieving. It made (y/n) feel less like she was being left behind.
Though, that feeling was still becoming increasingly prominent, especially after the previous day. She felt stuck, trapped in a cage of her fears.
She felt like she was nothing but in the way. And all while Mahiru and Kuro were doing their best to improve the situation. They were both trying so hard to make things right with Tsubaki. To work with C3 and help Kuro's siblings, and Mahiru's friends.
The only person not doing anything was her.
     She clenched her fists.

"Come on (y/n). No more sitting around."
With that she stood and made her way to the door once again. She was done sitting and being afraid. She didn't want to be the damsel in distress anymore.

Opening the door with a little more enthusiasm than she expected, the girl stepped out into the main room. Kuro and Mahiru we're together at the coffee table. The two flinched with her sudden appearance.
And suddenly all of the courage (y/n) had mustered up on the other side of the door seemed to fizzle into embarrassment. No one else was there for her little mental pep talk. She could see the usual sense of worry in the two's eyes as she jutted out of the room so abruptly. Though, the warmth rising in her cheeks was probably a dead give away that she wasn't upset.
She turned her head, looking aside and pursing her lips as she built up the energy to speak with the two staring at her.
"W... wake me up next time." She muttered.

She made her way over after a brief pause to sit next to Kuro at the small table. He reached and placed his hand on top of hers. Leaning closer to get a better look at her.
     "You okay?"
She sat up straight. "Wh- of course I'm okay." Was her immediate answer, and she turned to look the servamp in the eyes.
Mahiru watched almost in shock as the girl poked at the other vampire's chest almost as if she were scolding him.
"Just don't leave me out! It's not very smart of you to be having all these talks without me. How would I be able to help then?"
