Chapter 21

      Dashing footsteps met the pavement; (y/n) ran as fast as she could towards the alicien manor. Her phone was pressed against her ear, the deep pit in her stomach not letting up as she listened to the line ring.
     The was a click.
     "Hello-?"
     "-Mahiru!" (Y/n) nearly shouted as she cut him off. She panted slightly and she ran and spoke, "Mahiru, something's happening at misono's place. I'm heading there now." She said.
     "What??" Mahiru questioned. "We were just there a few hours ago?"
      "Lilly's subclasses just called me." The girl explained. "I know this is important.. I can feel it."
     There was a long pause; (y/n) could hear the mumbling of Kuro and Mahiru debating something on the other line. She felt nervous, but still she pressed forwards.
     "Mahiru..?" She called. She heard fumbling through the phone.
     "We're on our way."

(Y/n) got to the Alicien manor a lot faster than she had expected, but at the moment that was a good thing. She stopped at the front gate, panting slightly. Her eyes trailed around the area, and she realized that she didn't have the slightest idea of what to do. She didn't know what was going on, what the threat was, or where they were. She couldn't just barge in either; she'd have to be careful about this.
'Please don't get mad at me for this..' (y/n) thought to herself as she placed her hands around the bars of the metal gate. She hadn't bothered to take her gloves or cloak in her hurry, so her bare skin pressed against the cold metal. She focused, and sent black shards up the gate. There was a crack, and a shatter.
She let herself inside.

(Y/n) made her way up to the front doors, and stopped. She pressed her ear against the door and listened, trying to figure out where everyone was at the moment. She heard shuffling from the kids upstairs, it was late, so she knew something was up. There was talking in one of the back rooms as well, and by the sound of it the rest of the manor was quiet.
It seemed the coast was clear.
(Y/n) pushed the door open slowly, and stepped inside the manor. She shut the door back, and looked around. The lights were dimmed as usual during the evening hours, nothing suspicious so far. She'd have to go find the twins to know for sure what the threat was.
The subclass moved swiftly through the halls, keeping her eyes open for anything that looked off. To her surprise, everything in the manor was uncannily ordered, everything seemed too correct. It made (y/n) more unsettled.
She took a shortcut through the garden area, looking around as well, but at soon as she made it through the second set of doors she hit something, and stepped back. She looked down to what she had knocked into, and her eyes widened.
"(Y-y/n)?!"
Out of instinct the girl apologized, but quickly after, she shushed the male and helped him up. "Nobody knows I'm here.."
"What??" The male asked in a whisper. "What do you mean? What are you doing here??"
"I let myself inside." (Y/n) explained, "the twins called me, they said something was wrong." She said.
     The purplette looked confused. "What? But Lily's subclass should be asleep."
     "I know." (Y/n) replied, "that's why I got worried." She said. She looked around for a moment and furrowed her brows, "have you noticed anything off around here since Mahiru left?" She asked.

     Misono shook his head, "no, everything's been-.." he stopped abruptly. "Wait, since Shirota left..?"
     "He was here..?" He asked.
     (Y/n) looked down to the boy, confused. She gave a slow nod. "Yeah, a few hours ago."
     The eve squeezed his eyes shut in thought.
     "He.. came here.?" Misono muttered to himself in question. (Y/n) could feel the pit in her stomach growing again. Did he really not know about mahiru visiting?
     ".. Somethings.. not right." The boy muttered. He looked up to (y/n), but the sudden sound of a door creaking drew both of their attention away.
     The large door to the manor fell shut as if someone had just walked through it. A glimpse of grey fabric was all either of the two caught before the figure had shut it.
"Lily..?" Misono's voice rang.
(Y/n) got a really bad feeling.
