Some Chubby Bucky Barnes Headcanons

A/n: Here's a random marvel Headcanon for my favourite assassin XD

. After the collapse of Shield and dragging his best friend out of the waters Bucky needed some time to himself his mind shattered with thousands of fractures memories swimming around inside his head.
. Placing Steve on the ground Bucky watched his unconscious friend for a few moments feeling an overwhelming urge to protect him some memories leaking to the front of his mind of a much skinnier Steve getting into fights and bedridden ill coughing and burning up with a fever.
. Muttering under his breath about Steve being a stupid punk Bucky reluctantly picked his best friend back up carrying him towards the nearest hospital not able to leave his friend unconscious and beaten up.
. After that Bucky disappeared completely desperately trying to figure out who he is and work through his memories.
. Of course Bucky never went too far from Steve standing on the rooftop across the street watching his friend in his apartment making sure he wasn't doing anything too stupid.
. Within the first week watching captain America the ex assassin started to notice an odd habit everyday Steve would leave either a bag or a plate different sugary pastries with a note folded neatly in front of it.
. Curiously getting the better of him Bucky cautiously climbing up the fire escape climbing through the window when either Steve isn't in the room or left the apartment, surprised the note is addressed to him somehow Steve guessed he was being watched and won't force/look for Bucky waiting for him to come back in his own time.
. Taking a single bite out of a sweet pastry Bucky couldn't help but moan not remembering tasting anything like this in his life sitting down on the couch and munching away at the plateful of pastries.
. The only telltale sign that the ex assassin was in his friend's apartment was the empty crumb filled plate!
. Steve may have been a little too enthusiastic knowing his friend easily snuck and ate the little peace offering of snacks he'd left for Bucky planning on leaving even more so he knows his best friend was at least eating.
. Steve is very much a mother hen.
. His constant worries keeping him making and leaving snacks in the living room and soon everyday upgrading them from full fledge meals.
. Bucky never declines these offering even after having his own meals at his own abandoned rundown apartment he eagerly and quietly stuffs himself and forces to leave with a bloated full round belly awkwardly climbing out of the window.
. Having a different version of the super solider serum Bucky simple assumed it worked exactly like Steve's having a super appetite but with a slight difference as Bucky metabolism is much slower than his best friend's.
. At first things weren't noticeable for the assassin as the somewhat baggy hoodie managed to hide his abs bloating outwards but with the constant snacks and meals Steve had been leaving his waistline expanded rapidly.
. His muscular abs softened first turning into a small pot belly that was unnoticeable but quickly turning into a big rotund beerbelly the size of a basketball that caused his hoodies to snugly wrap around showing off his plump love handles and frequently leaving a few pale inches of gut hanging out, his jeans painfully tightened around his wider hips as his butt swelled up in the seat of his pants looking like two footballs stuffed under as the material constantly creaked whenever Bucky moved.
. Bucky was too busy to notice any of this happening to his body preoccupied with staying under Hydra's radar and trying to catch up with all the things he'd missed.
. In fact the extra weight he'd gained seemed to help him making him feel much calmer, having less and less nightmares about his time in Hydra.
. During the six months of the simple routine of sneaking into his best friends apartment both Bucky and Steve have been slowly communicating through little notes being left on the coffee table.
. Most of the time the notes being left explaining what happened in their days, Bucky constantly calling Stevie a punk with Steve telling him all about the Avengers with one note which made Steve extremely anxious/happy that Bucky explained he nearly feels ready to come back home.
. A few times Bucky accidentally ran into trouble as he always walks through alleyways either walking upon a mugging or just a few gang members looking for trouble.
. Every time Bucky uses his thick tree trunk thighs to squash the person's face slamming them onto the ground, belly bumping into them to knock them off their feet or plainly taking out the trash by tossing them into dumpsters.
. Early in the morning Bucky calmly and steadily knocked on the door to Steve's apartment taking some deep breaths from the flight of stairs feeling ready to come back home to his best friend.
. Steve wasn't prepared to meet Bucky his mouth hung open with his eyebrows raised up in surprise his blue eyes roaming over his friend noticing Buck's face looked pudgier, rounder with a slight double chin his hoodie clearly a few sizes too small ridden up exposing his doughy plump midsection that sagged over his jeans.
. Snapping out of it Steve pulled his best friend tightly in for a hug refusing to let go mumbling how happy to finally see him again happy to see Bucky looking healthier, much calmer and definitely bigger than before!
. Bucky graciously returned the hug allowing Steve to pull him into his apartment where they begun to catch up on lost time.
. For the next few weeks Steve definitely going a little overboard with his mother hen tendencies cooking up many feasts that could feed a family of four and occasionally feeding Bucky.
