(A/N: finally, amirite? It's been forever you guys. And excuse the crappy cover. I for some reason thought it was cool!?!? Idk who knows. Enjoy!)

Samandriel was pacing around the room, running his fingers through his dark hair. Adam was supposed to be calling. It was already 5:00, and his classes ended at 3:30. Of course, with Adam going to a university, he probably had a lot of work but Samandriel didn't care. He wanted his Adam.

But Adam was probably off doing what Adam's do - which should be Samandriel's, but nooo. The blonde boy just had to change to a college in Mississippi, instead of staying in Kansas, huh?

Samandriel fiddled with the ring on his finger. Many people had asked why he was engaged at so young, but the answer was simple; he was in love and he wasn't afraid of showing how much he loved Adam.

There was a knock at the bedroom door, which used to be Adam and Samandriel's room, but was now just Samandriel's.

Ellen walked in and smiled, her presence calming Samandriel down.

"Has he called?" Ellen asked and Samandriel shook his head mutely. Ellen sighed. "I'm sure he's busy, honey. Maybe he'll call soon."

"I miss him," Samandriel blurted and Ellen smiled sympathetically.

"I do too. But just think about it. Next week is winter break and he's coming down to visit, right?"

"I hope."

"You'll see him soon. I bet he misses you as much as you miss him."

"He better."

Ellen laughed, before saying, "Dinner's ready."

"I'll be down in a sec."

Ellen left the room and Samandriel snuggled farther into the jacket that used to be Adam's. It used to smell like him too, but now just smelled like Samandriel's body wash. Adam was slipping right away from him.

"We're having guests, Sammie, so clean yourself up. And by God, please brush your hair!" Ellen called up and Samandriel pouted before brushing his hair with his fingers. He looked at himself and admitted that he looked terrible. There were bags under his eyes, and he looked like he hadn't eaten in two weeks.

After Samandriel's dad had officially disowned him, Ellen took it upon herself to adopt Samandriel, and the boy didn't mind. He loved Ellen like he loved his mother. She was an amazing motherly figure.

He walked down the stairs and froze. In the middle of the room, his three brothers stood...well, not brothers anymore - not officially. Michael was holding Alfie, which made Samandriel mad. That was his cat, not Michael's.

"Heya, Sams," Gabriel greeted, sucking on a cherry lollipop.

"Hi," Samandriel said through clenched teeth. So his brothers just decide to show up now? After all this time?! After everything they let their dad do, they think they just have the right to waltz back into his life?!

"Your brothers are so lovely. Is it alright if they stay for dinner?" Ellen asked, smiling at them gracefully.

"They're not my brothers - not technically, anyway," Samandriel murmured and sat at his usual seat at the dinner table. The other boys filled in and Samandriel looked over, wishing to see Adam right beside him. But of course, Adam wasn't there.

"Where's Adam?" Michael asked. As if Samandriel needed to think about him more.

"College."

"Where?"

"Mississippi."

"What's he studying?" Gabriel cut in and Samandriel stared at the table.

"He's in medical school at the moment."
