"Sammie..." Adam trailed off, his voice wary as he sat up, eyeing Samandriel, who was underneath him in nothing but his boxers. "Please don't tell me those are what I think they are."

Samandriel put his hand over his face, trying not to cry as he felt Adam get off of him. Samandriel looked to see Adam walking out of the bedroom door. Samandriel hopped up and ran after him, sliding on some sweatpants as he did so.

"Adam, wait!" Samandriel called, but Adam was already out the door. He stopped in front of it and stared at the door handle, wondering if he should go after Adam. "I'm sorry," he whispered, resting his forehead against the wooden door before he turned around and slid down the door. "Please don't leave me."

"I'm not leaving you, Sammie," Adam whispered, his voice igniting hope in Samandriel's chest. "I just need some time to myself."

Time to myself.

That was never a good sign.

"O-okay."

"I love you, Sammie."

"I love you too," Samandriel said, but Adam's footsteps had already carried away.

---

The minutes ticked agonizingly slow by as Samandriel waited for Adam to come home. Finally, three hours after he left, Adam walked into the door.

"Adam, I-"

"Save it," Adam snapped, causing Samandriel to flinch. "I know what you're doing."

"What?" Samandriel asked, reaching for Adam, but the latter pulled hastily away.

"You're using me for sex, huh?" Adam glared and Samandriel furrowed his eyebrows.

"What?!"

"What's the first thing you do when I come home? Fuck me!"

"Adam, it's not like that!" Samandriel yelled, cutting Adam off just as he was about to speak.

"Then what's it like?"

"When you come home, I just miss you, okay?! And I want to be close to you, since we spend so much time apart!" Samandriel cried, tears marking his cheeks. He hastily wiped them away with his hands, shaking his head. "It's whatever."

"Sammie..." Adam trailed off, walking over and pulling the smaller boy to his chest. Samandriel buried his face into Adam's neck - and that's when he smelled it.

"You're drunk," Samandriel commented.

"Thanks, Captain Obvious!" Adam saluted sarcastically and Samandriel pushed him away.

"And an assholish drunk," Samandriel muttered and Adam rolled his eyes.

"You know what? I bet you just burn yourself so I'll feel sorry for you and fuck you, huh?" Adam asked and Samandriel's head snapped up fast enough to give him whiplash.

"Are you kidding me?!" Samandriel screamed, before sighing and shaking his head. "This isn't you."

"A drunk never lies," Adam - no, not Adam - drunk Adam teased and Samandriel's eyes burned with tears.

"I'm leaving," Samandriel said simply, putting on a jacket over his shirt he had put on while Adam was gone. "Call me when you're sober."

He slipped his shoes on and left the apartment building without looking back.

---

What am I doing? Samandriel thought as he pressed the green call button on his phone. The speaker rang, before a familiar voice interrupted it.

"Hello?"

"Caleb, hi, can you come pick me up?" Samandriel asked, hastily wiping his tears away.

"Yeah, sure. Where are you?"

Samandriel told him where he was at and waited for the boy to pull up.

What am I doing? He thought for the second time as he crawled into Caleb's car.

"Hey, you okay?" Caleb asked and Samandriel shook his head.

"Can we go to your place?"

"Of course. Wait - isn't your fiancé here this week?"

"He's drunk. And an asshole."

"I'm sorry. You don't deserve that."

You're right. I don't deserve Adam.

Once they pulled into Caleb's driveway, Samandriel wasted no time in hurrying into the house and pushing Caleb against the wall.

"Kiss me," he demanded and Caleb's eyes widened.

"What?"

"Kiss. Me."

Caleb didn't hesitate a second before laying his lips on Samandriel's, their hands exploring everywhere as Caleb pushed Samandriel onto the bed. Caleb's mouth roamed Samandriel neck and Samandriel stopped him.

"Wait. Before we do this..." Samandriel said, before slipping off his engagement ring and lying it on the bedside table. He then turned to Caleb. "Continue."

"I knew you'd give in someday," Caleb whispered and continued to leave marks on Samandriel's neck.

---

Samandriel woke up, his bare arms and legs tangled with Caleb's. His phone was ringing and he searched through his sweatpant pockets to find it, before pulling it out to see that Adam was calling. He answered it.

"Hello?"

"Sammie, are you okay? I'm so sorry about the things I said last night, I was drunk and I wasn't thinking straight. Please come home."

"I..." Samandriel turned to look at Caleb, who was sleeping, one arm wrapped around Samandriel waist while the other was being used as a pillow.

"Please, baby, come home. I miss you already," Adam begged and Samandriel sighed.

"Pick me up on the bridge."

"Okay. I love you."

Samandriel hung up before he could say it back.

---

Samandriel watched as Adam's car came into sight. He had left a note for Caleb and slipped back on his engagement ring. After Adam exited the car, he walking quickly towards Samandriel, pulling him into a tight hug.

"I'm so sorry," he whispered and Samandriel sighed.

"It's okay."

"It's really not," Adam murmured, hugging Samandriel tighter. "I shouldn't have said those things-"

"You're right. You shouldn't have. So why did you?" Samandriel asked and pushed Adam away.

"I was drunk and didn't know what I was saying-"

" 'A drunk never lies'," Samandriel repeated in the same tone Adam had used. "It's okay. I get it."

"No, it's not-"

"I had sex with Caleb last night," Samandriel blurted, before covering his mouth with his hand. Adam took a second to process the new information.

"What?" Adam asked, his voice breaking.

"I'm sorry, I was just upset and lonely and I-"

"No!" Adam cut him off, his voice cracking. "Saying a few harmful things while drunk - that's forgivable. But being sober and fucking another guy while you're still engaged?!"

"Fine! You hate me so much anyway, so," he slipped his engagement ring off and threw it at Adam. "Have a great life."
