"Adam," Samandriel whined, "come back to bed."

"I have to help Ellen get ready for the Christmas party."

"Christmas party?" Samandriel asked, opening his eyes a little bit more to look at Adam.

"Yeah. It's just a little party with some of Ellen's co-workers."

"Do I have to go?"

"Considering it's here...yes."

Samandriel groaned and pulled the covers over his head. He felt something straddle his waist and pull the covers down a bit so that only his eyes were showing. Adam giggled when he saw Samandriel and pecked his forehead.

"You'll be okay."

Samandrel rolled his eyes and giggled as Adam made a funny face.

"You dork," he mumbled and Adam grinned.

"You love me."

"Mhm."

Adam rolled his eyes and pulled the covers down a bit so that all of Samandriels face was showing. He then leaned down and captured Samandriel's lips in a light, soft kiss.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

Adam splayed his body out over Samandriel's and sighed, resting his cheek on the pillow space above Samandriel's head.

"Get off of me," Samandriel giggled.

"That's not what you said last night."

"Adam!"

"I'll get off of you if you..." Adam thought for a moment. "List all of the things you love about me."

"Everything," Samandriel replied instantly, causing a light sprinkle of pink to dust Adam's cheeks.

"But what in particular?"

"Your butt."

Adam giggled and wrapped his arms around his fiancé, burying his face into Samandriel's neck.

"What do you love about me?" Samandriel asked, his tone sad and mellow.

"Everything," Adam replied softly.

Samandriel's smile was broken and sad as he cherished the short moments with the love of his life.

"Hello, Rowena!" Ellen greeted as a woman dressed in a blood red dress walked into the room, her red hair in a sophisticated bun, and her makeup very regal-like.

Rowena gave a small scoff and sat down on the couch, right across from where Adam and Samandriel were pleasantly chatting.

"Boys," Rowena called, her tone high and mighty. "Care to introduce yourselves?"

"I'm Adam, Ellen's nephew," Adam introduced.

"And you?" Rowena asked, looking directly at Samandriel with those eyes and that smile that looked so familiar. Her stare was so royal and harsh, he couldn't get the words out. "Dear me, is there something wrong?" she asked, leaning forward slightly. Her voice held a heavy accent.

"This is Samandriel," Adam introduced for him.

"And how are you in the family, Samandriel?" the way she said his name sent shivers down his spine. This was all too familiar.

"He's my-"

"Are you Crowley's mother?" Samandriel blurted and Rowena feigned a look of surprise.

"That was quite disrespectful, cutting dear Adam off here, don't you think?" Rowena said in a slightly mocking voice. She completely ignored Samandriel's question as the room fell silent.

More people came in and sat down, a woman with dirty blonde hair tied back in a tight bun sat on the same couch as Samandriel and Adam.

"So, I can't help but ask, but how are you in the family, Samandriel?" a woman on another couch asked, crossing her legs politely. "I've never met you before. And is that a ring on your finger? Who's the lucky lady?"

"It's not a..." Samandriel looked down at the ring, blushing. "I'm-"

"He's my fiancé," Adam interrupted, and Samandriel sent him a thankful look.

"Oh," the woman answered and tried to hide her disgusted look. The woman sitting on the same couch as Samandriel and Adam not-so-subtly got up and moved away.

"That's disgusting," another lady murmured.

"Excuse me, Rhonda, but who asked you?" Ellen asked angrily, glaring at her.

"That's just lovely," Rowena admitted. "My son, uh...Crowley, is in a relationship much like this one. As long as they're happy, I suppose you ladies shall not have a problem with it?" Rowena asked and looked at all the ladies, who nodded under her intense stare. She grinned and leaned back a little bit. "Good."

---

"Ellen, I don't think it's a great idea for you to continue working with us," Samandriel heard a woman say to Ellen. It was almost midnight, and a few women had stayed a bit longer. Adam was upstairs fast asleep.

"And why's that?" Ellen asked. Samandriel continued to stay hidden from everyone's view.

"Your nephew is," she lowered her voice, "homosexual-"

"And...?" Ellen took a sip of wine.

"And I can't have that at my work. It could rub off on you and then-"

"Looks like we have a little visitor," Rowena interrupted cheerfully and looked directly at Samandriel. He slowly walked out and stood beside Ellen, keeping his head down.

"Sammie, I thought you went to sleep," Ellen said and Samandriel sighed.

"I'm not tired."

And once again, he felt like that little teenager, who's father was about to disown him for being with a boy. He felt small. He felt hopeless.

"Oh, we were just talking about-"

"I heard," he cut Ellen off.

"You ought to be ashamed of yourself, boy!" the homophobic woman cried, glaring at him. "I'm about to lose my best worker because of you!"

"Because of me?" Samandriel asked. "What did I do?"

"You...you sleep with men!"
"So do you," he blatantly reminded. She scoffed.

"You're an abomination. You're...what you're doing is a sin!"

"You know what else is a sin? Eating shrimp as pork, wearing clothes from two different fabrics, cutting your hair, shaving and working on Sunday's. And I'm pretty sure you do most of those. And where in the Bible does it say homosexuality is a sin?" The woman was silent. "Exactly! Good night."

He huffed and walked up the stairs, collapsing in bed next to Adam. The boy stirred and turned to face him.

"Sammie?" he mumbled, his eyes still shut.

"I'm right here."

"I missed...I missed you..."

"I missed you too," Samandriel whispered, kissing Adam's nose. "Go to sleep."

"You're an idjit," Adam murmured and Samandriel smiled.

"I love you."

"Wuv woo."
