Chapter 2

It was finally lunch time which I was really thankful for. I was so hungry, it felt as if my insides were trying to eat themselves. Kaitlyn and I met up on our way to the cafeteria. "Where were you this morning? You didn't meet up with me, I was worried." I asked. "Oh. I had practice before school, I guess I forgot to tell you." She answered blankly. When we got there everybody was crowding one of the tables. We both looked at each other confused as to what was happening. Instead of going to the crowded table to investigate, we just decided to get our food. When we sat down, a few people had left the table, but some were still crowding it. "Have you heard of the new kid?" Kaitlyn asked. "Yeah, what about him?" I replied . "A lot of people are saying that he's pretty hot but I haven't seen him, so I can't judge for myself." she laughed. I simply smiled and began eating my food. I felt instantly better with food in my system. School food isn't the best thing there is but it's better than nothing. Kaitlyn and I didn't make much conversation, she was so focused on her phone she didn't pay much attention to me.

Lunch went by pretty fast. I had to go to my next class, which I dreaded dearly. Everyone was making a big deal out of Niall. Whenever a new student enrolled in our school, the popular group of Seniors would make the unlucky student look like a fool; for high-school students, they sure acted like elementary kids. But that wasn't the case with Niall. He was well welcomed and everybody seemed to like him. I guess it was because he was good looking, or maybe he liked to socialize? I thought it was pretty odd.
