Yuta sighed. Another night of being unable to fall asleep. They were starting to pile up. He thought it would be easier now that he was enrolled in the school and Rika wasn't hurting people constantly.

"It's nearly impossible to exorcise a curse as strong as Orimoto Rika." Satoru stated matter-of-factly. Yuta stared at his sensei's back in surprise. Wasn't the whole point of him enrolling in this school to learn how to unravel Rika's curse?

"But unraveling it is a different case. You have to analyze the millions of knots of cursed energy and untie each knot one by one. Only you, the cursed one, can do this." Satoru said. Yuta furrowed his brows in confusion.

"How..? What should I do specifically?" Yuta asked. Satoru picked up a katana from a nearby shelf and turned around to face Yuta.

"Here, use this" He said, handing Yuta the katana. Yuta examined the sword in his hands.

"A katana.." Yuta mumbled in slight confusion.

"A curse is the most stable when it is possessing an item. Your connection to Rika came about through your ring. Think of it like an already existing pipe that you're using. Invoke the curse and channel it into the katana. Then you'll be able to control it. Then, repeat the process, increase the energy, and master it. If you do this then both of you will be free." Satoru explained, closing the distance between him and Yuta with no awareness of what the term personal space meant.

"Master channeling the curse into the katana...?"

"While learning how to use it for regular sword fighting!" Satoru added cheerfully, tapping Yuta's chest with one finger.

"Oh..." Yuta said.

"You're super weak so you're going to have to do a lot of training. You can ask Hiyori-chan for help practicing using your katana and channeling it with cursed energy like how you saw her do it during her spar with Maki. She's an expert at swordsmanship." Satoru said, finally moving away from Yuta. Yuta let out a breath of relief now that he had his personal space back. Yuta could hear the pride in his sensei's voice as he spoke about Hiyori. "If she's too busy on a mission then you can ask Maki as well. She's a cursed weapons specialist, after all"

Yuta sighed once again. It had been two days since then and he still hadn't approached Hiyori to ask her for help. It wasn't like she made him uncomfortable, in fact, it was the opposite. But he couldn't help the way his heartbeat would increase and how he became a stuttering mess around her. To save himself from further embarrassment, he avoided talking to her as much as possible. He had so many things he wanted to say and talk to her about but he couldn't bring himself to for fear of embarrassing himself in front of her so he avoided talking to her as much as possible. She probably didn't remember him anyway. Since she returned five days ago, she hadn't shown any indication that she remembered him. The thought of her having forgotten about him made him feel sad inside.
