Hiyori hovered two fingers over her lips like she had watched her adoptive father do multiple times before. Her eyes narrowed in concentration.
"領域展開: 月読 // Domain Expansion: Tsukuyomi"
Nothing happened. There was no cool domain or anything of that sort. Hiyori sighed. 'Still no progress....' She flopped back against the soft pillows of her infirmary bed and glanced back down at her book. 'Do I have to activate it a different way?'
She picked it up and held it high in the air like the old, yellow pages would reveal some new information that would help her figure out how to use her domain expansion. The book was kind of like a mystery quest item in those video games that she played with Satoru sometimes when the two of them weren't busy with missions, work, and training. They used to play more when she was younger but nowadays they stuck to binging movies and shows together.
She flipped through the old, blue book. There were still a good amount of blank pages left that she hadn't, as she phrased it, unlocked yet. Her violet-blue eyes landed on the small series of numbers at one corner of one of the mainly blank pages in the book. 'Maybe there's a cheat code that I can enter to unlock everything...'
She flipped back to the page titled 月読 and reread the words, written in black ink by one of her ancestors, in an attempt to figure out what she was missing. 'Maybe it's just a performance issue...I should try again' She raised her right hand and hovered two fingers over her lips once more.
"I thought I told you to rest, kiddo" Hiyori looked up to see Shoko leaning against her infirmary room door.
"Aunt Shoko!" Hiyori greeted happily with a bright smile. The brown-haired woman had an eyebrow raised with an almost amused look on her tired features.
"Are you trying to do a domain expansion in my infirmary?"
"It's not working" Hiyori pouted. Shoko shook her head in mild dismay over the white-haired girl before her. She was just like her adoptive father. Shoko still remembered when Satoru had been trying to learn domain expansion back when they were still students at Jujutsu High. An absolute menace...that's what he was.
"Your senses are duller and your cursed energy is unstable because of that head injury of yours combined with the lack of sleep and food you've been getting recently so that's probably why. There's still too much we don't know about the brain and its connections to cursed energy to figure out exactly why your cursed energy is still unable but it should be fine once you rest up and that injury heals." Shoko said, walking towards Hiyori's bedside.
"If only I wasn't immune to your reverse cursed technique." Hiyori sighed. Her innate ability had perks but also downsides like how someone else's RCT didn't work on her so she had to heal from wounds naturally.
