"She what!?" Peter asked, he and Ben were discussing Ana's reaction and her storming off. "How did she even do that? The doors are suppose to only lead to our sanctuaries, the library, and here."

"I don't know! She just said 'Take me home,' and that's where it led," Ben said.

"We should move quickly before anything happens to her," Arrianne says, grabbing her coat and rushing towards the door.

Carly's phone rang before anyone could react to Arrianne's hasty decision.

"Talk to me," she answered, her tone clipped. Her eyes widened as her friend on the police force spoke on the other line.

"Oh my God. No, no, that's impossible! She can't-where is she? Which hospital?"

The minute Ben heard this, his face fell along with the world around him.
No, he thought, No, she has to be okay. No, no, no . . .

"We'll be right there," Carly said, ending the call and looking towards everyone then at Ben.

"I'm sorry."

"No," he said, "Not so soon, she can't be-"

"Where is she? What the hell happened? I need to find her now!" Peter demanded. The thought of what could've happened to her made him angry.

"There was an accident and-"

"Like fuck there was an accident!" Ben's voice boomed. He punched the wall and the entire room began to shake. His rage was causing an earthquake.

"Ben! Control yourself!" Arrianne yelled, "What would Ana want?"

And that was all it took to make their world still. Ben took a deep breath and bolted for the door. Everyone followed without question. They all had a common goal at this point-to keep Ana alive.

"We've got a seventeen year old, female, car accident. She has a shattered skull and the left side of her ribcage is bruised, and her heart rate is decreasing. She's in critical-"

The man is cut off by a loud, prolonged beep from Ana's heart monitor.

"Code blue! I'm calling a code blue!"
It's like I'm ten all over again, Ana thought. Then everything went black.

She was laid out on a gurney in an ambulance, going at sixty mile per hour, rushing her to the hospital. Her head had a massive scar on the left side of her forehead that was gushing in blood. The red dripped down the left half of her face and a bit on her clavicle.

She had purple bruises on both arms and her entire left leg. And to state the obvious, her eyes were closed and she was unconscious. She slipped in and out of consciousness after her head smashed against the window, however her body kept leaning more towards the big black void that was swallowing her up.

She had come accustomed to the whole blacking out and hearing the words 'code blue' a few years ago. She had health issues that couldn't be explained-frequent nose bleeds, extreme fatigue, she even passed out at school once. However, her vitals were always good and no matter what tests she took and how frequently she took them, she was often deemed off as 'perfectly healthy.' At one point, she use to pass out and stop breathing-hence the 'code blue.'

It all stopped at age fifteen, but the memories stayed intact.

The ambulance doors flew open and the team of paramedics rushed her out of the ambulance and into the ICU.

A team of nurses rushed to her side, lifting her and laying her on a hospital bed, hooking her up to an IV, and IV pump, and bags of saline fluids and blood. They also connected her to a heart monitor and quickly checked her vitals. It took several tries of CPR before they could get the faintest breath.
