"What does it mean when someone touches your lips with theirs?"

"What?!"

"He kissed you?!"

Selene tilted her head, "What does that mean?"

I froze, as did Natasha and Pepper. "Hey, kid, are you being serious?"

She nodded, "I've seen people press their lips together before. In Ireland, we had a lot of tourists especially at the Hellfire Club. Two people would stand in front of the building, usually a man and a woman, and press their lips together. They would take an image and, after they looked at it, they seemed so happy."

"Pressing your lips together is called 'kissing'. You do this with the person you love."

Selene tilted her head even more, "I love you girls, but we don't kiss."

~Natasha~
I was struggling to explain the concept of kissing and love to Selene, so Wanda laughed and took over. "She means a different kind of love. You loved your Mama Clover and your Papa River, right?" Selene nodded. "And you love the Avengers?" She nodded again. "You loved Clover and River because they were your parents. You love the Avengers as your family, your pack."

"Of course. You and the others saved me, I would have died if you hadn't come back for me."

"You love Pietro. But the love you feel for him is different. How did your pack show affection to each other?"

Selene had a far off look of melancholy in her eyes. "Rub/bundt our heads or our cheeks together. If a wolf was lucky, a she-wolf would nip his ear. Not to hurt him, though." (So that's why she head butts us when she's happy.)

"Was that only amongst mates?" Wanda seemed genuinely curious about Selene's pack.

"A she-wolf nipping a wolf's ear was amongst mates."

~Selene~
I liked talking about my old pack, it helps me remember them. "Ear nipping was a she-wolf's way of telling a wolf she loves him."

"That's what kissing is to humans. But for humans it doesn't matter who does it." Wanda patted my head to let me know she was done brushing my hair.

"In other words, Pietro wants to be your mate." Natasha smirked and my face burned.

"Although, we as humans call mates our boyfriend or girlfriend." As I put my brush back in it's drawer, Pepper stood and stretched. "Does that make sense?"

My cheeks were on fire so I shifted and went to hide in my den. Yes, it makes sense. Goodnight, girls.

*Hey guys. Happy reading.*
