~Unknown~
"Mommy! That's so cold I'm gonna die!" I pulled the covers off of R**e*.

"Oh, hush. It's not that cold." Smiling, I rolled my eyes and sat on the edge of the bed. "You know, your auntie used to wake me up like this. Except, she'd pull me off the bed."

"I wish I could have met her. And Daddy too." R**e* looked at me with those big bright blue orbs. I miss him.

"Я тоже, мой щенок." (Me too, my pup.) I could feel my eyes watering as I thought of him, as I thought of them all.

"It's okay to cry, Mommy. You don't have to hold it in."

Hearing those words out of my child's mouth broke me. It tore down the rest of my walls. For the first time in eight years, I let myself cry. I let it all out, everything I felt R**e* holding me and petting my head.

"I'm so sorry, pup. I couldn't stop myself. I was a monster." My child stayed silent as I fell apart.

"You're not a monster." I looked h** in the eyes.

"You don't know that." I was angry.

"You can't be a monster. Because you're my mommy." The innocent smile made me sick.

" R**e*," I rose from the bed. "I've killed people! Good people!" My child sat there, unfazed. "I killed your daddy! I killed your abuelo! I killed your auntie! I killed my family!"

Now, R**e* was fazed. "What do you mean, Mommy? You're scaring me."

"I killed them because I am a monster!" My bones began snapping as they rearranged, my body burning as if I had swallowed the sun.

~Selene~
"--! Hey, hey, hey! Wake up!" Someone was shaking me. "It's just a bad dream!" (Héctor?) I sat up groaning, my body was sticky with sweat. "Mi hija! Are you okay?" I stared at him for a few seconds as I processed my dream.

"Monster." He looked at me in confusion. "A monster."

"What monster?"

"Me!" My face felt wet. "I'm the monster!" I grabbed handfuls of Héctor's shirt.

~Héctor~
"I'm the monster!" Selene grabbed my shirt.

"Mi hija. You are not a monster." I gently grabbed her hands.

"Yes I am!" She started to relax her grip, "I don't want to hurt them!" Selene sobbed.

"Mija." I wrapped my arms around her. "Shhh, it's okay."

"No, it's not! I'm scared!" Selene leaned into me. "I'm so scared, Daddy."

"Don't worry. I'm here for you." My eyes watered as I rubbed her head and rocked her. (She called me Daddy.) Sobs wracked Selene's body, it hurt me to see her like this. "I'm here, mija."

We stayed like this for a few hours, when I heard soft snoring and looked down, she had fallen asleep. I laid Selene down on her bed and pulled the blankets up. "Goodnight, Selene." I left her room.

~No One~
Héctor walked back to his room and shut the door, sliding down to the floor. Unable to hold it in any longer, he let the tears fall. He felt like a failure, not deserving of his daughter calling him Daddy. "I haven't been a great father, or even a good one. I never held her, or rocked her, or picked her up when she fell down. I never told her I loved her. I hope she'll give me the chance to make up for it."

-Mini Time Skip-

"Selene?" Wanda poked her head into Selene's room, but someone grabbed her shoulder.

"Don't bother her quite yet, please. She had a nightmare last night and I just barely got her back to sleep."

~Wanda~
I turned around to face the person and it was Héctor. "What do you mean 'you' just got her back to sleep?"

"I heard her yelling and crying, so I ran here to wake her up." He looked at Selene's sleeping form with sadness.

I looked at her as well before nodding and closing the door. "Do you know what her dream was about?"

Héctor shook his head. "Not exactly. She called herself the monster and said she didn't want to hurt them. I don't know for sure, but I think she was dreaming about transforming, then hurting you and your brother."

(Selene.) I wanted to cry for her. "Do you know how we can get that thought out of her head? The thought that she'll hurt us, I mean."

"Well, WE, can't do anything, only she can."

*Hey guys. I don't know what to think about this chapter. But, happy reading anyway!*
