☾✩☽Chapter 1☾✩☽

"Kyrus, come look what I found," I said. My best friend came in the door. As someone so young, I've always been fascinated by the stars, galaxies, of what was beyond this world. 'What is it?" Kyrus asked. I smiled at him, "It's a book about stars" I said. Kyrus sat beside me in the corner of a room. "Are you sure that's a book about stars Vi?" he asked. I sighed. "I think so, just read it with me, please?" I pouted, attempting to look cute. Kyrus looked at me, "Fine, but just so you know, you didn't look cute" he giggled. I rolled my eyes playfully. I opened the book, in the first page revealed a painting of our saint, The Enchantress, the powerful being who made our moon who I love, and our greatest warriors against the demons, moon warriors. "The enchantress is beautiful isn't she?" I asked, Kyrus nodded. "Do you want to be a moon warrior when you grow up Kyrus?" I asked. Kyrus shook his head, no. "Why?" I asked. "If I become a moon warrior and you don't, they'll take me away from you and take me to their training ground in Fiontann," Kyrus said. "Do you promise to not leave me Kyrus?" I asked. Kyrus nodded, we pinky swore to keep our promise. 

"Tinuviel Chantrea! Kyrus Oberon! Why are you both out of bed?!" Miss Frich said. "It's time for bed, come on," she said. Kyrus and I separated into our dorms. I slept with the other girl orphans, someday I wish I could get out of here, with Kyrus of course.

I woke up to the loud bell of one of the caretakers. I walked out of the room, rubbing my eyes. "Come on kids, hurry up, time for breakfast," Miss Frich said. "Good morning miss Frich," I said along with the other kids. I yawned as I walked into the dining area. "Vi! here!" I heard Kyus say. I smiled as I saw him. I went to the seat beside him. "Morning" I greeted, "Morning" he greeted back. We all had bread and milk for breakfast. After breakfast, all the kids were to do activities outside. I sat under a tree as I read a book about the different constellations, it was the only thing I had from my mother, the caretakers said that I was left outside their doorstep, on the book was a paper with my name written on it. I basically grew up here. As I was reading, someone covered my eyes, I giggled as I felt the person's hand. "Kyrus, stop it," I said as he took his hands off. He laughed. Kyrus sat beside me. "reading? again?" he said. I looked at him, "at least I do something sensible" I said as I patted his brown fluffy hair. He rolled his eyes, "yeah, yeah. . ." he said. While I read, someone threw a small rock at me. "Hey!" Kyrus said. "I looked up from my book, "Freak!" one of them said, "Grandma!" one of them said. I looked at my ash blonde hair. "Don't listen to them Vi, your hair is beautiful" Kyrus smiled, attempting to comfort me. I smiled at him as I continue to read. Kyrus always succeeds to make me happy. "Tinuviel! Kyrus!" Miss Frich called. We both walked to her. "Come, faster now," she said. Kyrus and I looked at each other before following her. We went into her office, we saw a woman, she was so beautiful, with long brown hair, eyes blue like the sky. "Sit down," Miss Frich said. We sat in front of the woman, she looked young. My eyes turned to the bags beside her, it was ours, what is happening. "Hello kids, I am Hysteria. Tinuviel, I knew your parents, before they died they told me to look for you" she smiled. A smile appeared on my face, I'm finally going out of here, but my head turned to Kyrus. "What about Kyrus?" I asked. "I know his family, his aunt is waiting for him in Fiontann," she said. Our eyes widen as we looked at each other. "Fiontann? where the king lives?" I said. The woman's face was serious but managed to smile, she nodded. "Will you both come with me?" she asked. Kyrus and I nodded with no hesitation. 

I stood in front of the orphanage beside Kyrus, I had grown up here, but now its time to leave. Goodbye Hanasta and hello Fiontann. It was almost dark, Hysteria held our hands as she led us to the dock, where we would be riding a boat to get to Fiontann. 

Soon we boarded the boat, I had never seen one before, it was amazing to look at. We were in our own cabin area now. "Stay here, I'll get us all something to eat," Hysteria said with a smile, before leaving us on the bed. "I can't believe it Kyrus, we're leaving, we have a family now," I said excitedly. I turned to look at him, he didn't look excited. "What is wrong Kyrus?" I asked. "we'll have our own family's now, I won't be able to see you," he said. "nonsense, I'll tell Hysteria that I'd want to visit you," I said. "You will?" Kyrus looked up. I nodded. A smile appeared on his face, and on mine as well. We hugged each other. 

Soon Hysteria came back with the food she promised us. We talked and talked, I now know that Hysteria owns a bakery back in Fiontann and that Kyrus's aunt and uncle own's a tool shop, arrows, fishing rod, hammers, and axes.

I was woken by someone gently shaking me, I opened my eyes as I sat up from the bed, "We're here Tinuviel" Hysteria said. I got my bag and went out of the cabins with Hysteria, Kyrus on her other side, she held our hands tightly to not lose us. It was night when we arrived. At the dock were a group of the Nizoralki army, they were the second army, that's what Miss Frich told us, and the first army was called the King's army. We got down from the boat. I felt my body shake as we walked, the walkways were dim, this was because of the special blue light the people used because red light attracted the demons. As we walked I looked ahead the forest, there were army people standing on each side of the snowy pathway. The only way to the gates of Fiontann was to go through the Haimati forest. I looked around to find at least two moon warriors but I didn't see any. "Alright this is my ride, now, I want you both to wear this" Hysteria said as she gave us both thick leather coats. Kyrus and I wore it, Hysteria got to the front to untie her horse. Kyrus and I stood there, holding each other's hands nervously. Hysteria helped us to get in the back of the roofless carriage. Kyrus and I sat across from each other, I sat beside the blue light. We waited for the go signal that we were alright to go. Then suddenly, a sphere of light appeared at the entrance of the pathway. "Kyrus look! it's moon warriors" I said excitedly. They were better than I imagined, back in Hanasta, there were no demons. Demons didn't like the water, and some are not immune to the cold, but some are. Four moon warriors appeared, two girls and two boys. They all had the same uniform. They all wore a black Al kina. An Al Kina is a special fabric that can endure the moon warrior's magic. The girls wore something like a dress, with thick black boots, their uniform had their symbol at the middle of their chest, the symbol of the Sun and Moon emerging, silver vine-like, embroidery spread around their Al kina, coming from the sun and moon, for that was their source of power. As I looked at them, one of the female warriors looked at me, I looked at her unable to break our eye contact, she smiled at me before saying something to one of the male warriors, they both looked at me before heading to the other two. "They look amazing don't they?" Kyrus asked. I looked at him as I nodded. 

Soon the female warrior I made eye contact with, stood in front of the pathway, a sphere of light appeared before her, she waved her hand through the air and pushed the light forward, illuminating the pathway. "You're all safe to go!" she announced.

Soon the carriages moved, Kyrus and I were mesmerized by the magic light above us. As I admired the light, behind me was the woman, she was in a black horse, I looked around, the other three were in black horses as well, walking at the edge keeping guard. I looked at the woman I was closer than I thought. The woman seemed to notice my stare, she looked at me and smiled. "Hello there lady," she said. I smiled, a moon warrior was talking to me. "What's your name?" the woman asked. "Oh-uh, Tinuviel miss" I answered, she nodded. "Beautiful name, I am Nayena, nice to meet you," she said. "Nice to meet you Nayena" I smiled, she smiled, before she could say something one of the male warriors called her. "Nayena! Secure the gate with Failo!" the man said. In seconds, Nayena went away with her horse. 

I turned to Kyrus to tell him about our conversation, but when I looked at him, he was asleep. I sighed as I rolled my eyes. "Are we almost there Hysteria?" I asked in a whisper, she looked at me from the side of her shoulder. "Yes, we're almost there" she smiled before looking at the road.

The ride wasn't long. Big metal gates opened before us, there I saw Fiontann, the houses, stores, the people, kids running around. I was relieved that we didn't encounter Demons. The moment our carriage stepped into the city, I knew right there my life changed, something new was ahead of me, I'm still 13, there is more to come in my life.
