Winter is nearby, but thankfully Al Kina's are designed to keep you warm.
I lay on the bed as I wait for sunrise, my mind stuck to the thought of Kyrus replying to my letter. Did he read my letter and is sending a reply right now? or did he ignore it?
I shook the thoughts off my head, I pulled the covers over my head, wrapping myself with them. I'd have to go through a painful day of combat training, and another failed channeling with Estiana. I want to have hope that I will learn how to channel on call soon, but every failed attempt is making me lose hope. I threw the covers off me and made my way to wear the rose gold night robe I have. I peeked through my door, looking in the hallway if anyone was there. I slowly opened my door making my way out. The library is one of the places I'd go to clear my mind.
I quickly but quietly made my way out, and even more quietly as I passed the King's quarters. I turned to the hall leading to the library, but then I saw two women assassins. My eyes widen as I saw them walking my way, I quickly turned my heel to run back to my quarters but then I stopped as one of them called me. "Chantrea?" a woman's voice called. I squinted my eyes shut as I turned to look, they took their masks off, revealing their faces. "Raibelle? Raiwen?" I felt slightly relieved that it was them, but not fully because first things first Arwen and Franz told me not to go out alone without them and the twins are close with them. A smirk appeared on Raibelle's face, "If I could remember your not supposed to be out alone are you?" she said. I let out a nervous laugh, "I just wanted to go to the library,"
"Should we tell Arwen about this Rai?" she said, looking at her short-haired sister. I looked at them nervously. Raiwen let out a chuckle, hitting her sister on the shoulder, "Don't worry, go ahead the library is empty," she said, I sighed out of relief. "We'll go ahead now Chantrea, see you around," Raibelle said, looking at me up and down. They both lowered their heads, giving me a slight bow before walking away. I swear I have to stop getting caught.
I made my way to the library. I made my way to the same column I got La al' malda qui'lon.
I searched for other books that interested me. My eyes landed on a book that had a white cover, the title written in silver. La is'torya de en'chantra, meaning the story of the enchantress. I got the book and sat on the tables to read. As usual, it had a painting of her on the first page, Asmodeus slithering behind her, its blue eyes so noticeable. It had the basics, she was created by the galaxies, and when she created the moon.
A chapter was titled Ascension I then remembered what Hysteria told me, that there will come a time the Enchantress will disappear like stardust and her abilities will be given to someone worthy to possess such power. I read the pages, observed the painting that described how it would look like if she ascends, her eyes closed, half of her were stardust, disappearing in the air. Suddenly I heard a loud bang of a door closing. I shut the book and hurried out. I walked to the main hallway, I turned to the hallway leading to my quarters, but I bumped into someone. I looked up only to see the king, his eyes red, making it glow as the hallway light hit him. I furrowed my eyebrows, confused about what was wrong with him. He looked like he haven't gotten any sleep, his hair was slicked back but in a messy way, with some strand on his face. his face looked uneasy, his eyebrows furrowed. "What's wrong?" I asked, examining his face. He always looked like something bothered him, but this time it looked as if he woke up from a traumatizing nightmare, I then remembered my vision. He took a few steps back away from me, I looked at him in confusion, waiting for him to speak. He ran a hand through his hair, "Nothing, please-uh- stay in your quarters," he said, stuttering, his face stern, and blank, "I-I'll see you around," he stuttered once again before swiftly passing by me, disappearing through the hallways. I looked at him as he walked away, what is wrong with him?
