I woke up with the most gut-wrenching headache. My head felt like it was burning. Only it was not burning like fire but burning with anger. Why am I so angry? I rubbed my head as I groaned out of annoyance. I wore my uniform, but no coat. I made my way out, the cold wind hitting my face. As I walked I tilted my head up to meet the sunlight, hopefully, this would calm me down, and it did, but that anger is still in there. I walked my eyes shut, but at this moment I wish I hadn't closed my eyes, I felt a hard broad chest hit me. Causing me to lose my balance and fall on the floor like an idiot. I groan as I landed on my buttons. I looked up, my eyebrows furrowed ready to blab my mouth to whoever made me fall. "My apologies Chantrea," I heard a stern formal voice of a male. "Nikolay? I'm sorry I didn't see you there," I said as I tucked the loose strands of hair behind my ear. He chuckled as he helped me get on my feet. His brunette curls moved as the wind blew, his hazel green eyes, looking at me, his shadow towered over me. Nikolay is a foot taller than Kyrus. "It's alright," he smiled as he gave me my hat. I took the hat from his hands. "Walk with me?" he asked. I agreed to walk with him.
"I saw you yesterday, in archery," He started, his arms crossed behind him as we walked. I then recalled that I was angry at that time, I nearly died. "You did pretty well. Right on the target," He smiled. I smiled back. Although Nikolay was very known in the camp, specifically for mostly all the girls drooling over him, but also for his talented archery skills, he's in the battalion of archery sharpshooters. I mean I can't deny it. He is a handsome man, but I never felt any interest in him only as a good friend. He had his way of talking. "You know it's a bit dangerous to walk with you," I chuckled. Nikolay tilted his head, looking at me, "And why is that Chantrea?" he asked, a smirk on his face. I rolled my eyes, slowing my walk, and so did he. "Those girls looked like they'll attack me the very second I walk with you," I said, glancing at a group of girls across us. Nikolay looked at them, then back at me. "Well, be grateful. I talk to people I am interested in," a grin appeared on his face. I nudged him on the arm. "Don't get any ideas," I joked. He let out a laugh, "don't worry. I know you have eyes on Oberon," He said. My head bopped up, ahead of us, were Kyrus, Cam, and Harry. " He's my best friend Nik," I said. "Whatever you say, I'll see you around Chantrea," he smiled as he winked at me before leaving. I made my way to Kyrus and the others. "Morning," I greeted. "Hello," Harry and Cam greeted in unison. "Morning, was that Nikolay you were speaking with?" Kyrus asked. I nodded, "I bumped into him earlier," I said. Kyrus let out a chuckle, "And why is that? Miss Chantrea isn't paying attention to the road again?" he said. I hit him on the arm as I rolled my eyes, "It's getting late, I have to get to the Cartography tent, you?" I asked, "My cartography is after lunch," Kyrus replied. I nodded, "Cam? Harry?" I asked, hoping they heard our conversation. "We have bloody combat today, the bruise on my shoulder isn't even healed yet" Cam complained. "If you fight better, you wouldn't be complaining," Kyrus chuckled. Meanwhile, Kyrus was good at combat and gun shooting. Although he has an interest in cartography, he also liked shooting, he said his senior is considering putting him in the sharpshooter's battalion. "easy for you to say," Harry said.
We made our separate ways. I headed to the cartography tent as I said. "Almost late again Chantrea," our senior said. Suddenly a sudden urge of anger grew in me, "Well I'm not," I said in a firm voice. I cursed under my breath, why did I say that. "Excuse me?" he said, clearly offended by my rude response. "I'm sorry Kapitan, It won't happen again," I said, taking a big gulp in. "Sit!" he slightly raised his voice, causing the others to flinch, while I held back mine. I sat on the bench, in front of me was Nina. She was biting her lip, clearly trying to hold back a laugh. I rolled my eyes and paid attention to our senior, fidgetting with my finger, trying to calm my anger. Our senior stood in front of us, discussing the different places of our world on the map, he started in Fionntan, across the city were the white houses, it was a neighborhood filled with wealthy people. He then went to the Castle. The Castle of Hesperos, where the King lives, in front of it, was our camp, my eyes lurked to the illustration of the moon warriors tower, it had their symbol, written, 'House of the Moon Warriors'. He turned to the forest beyond our walls, The Haimati Forest. He explained where the Haimati Tribe's grounds were, how we would know it would look like, that the trees would have a symbol of a snowflake carved on them. On the map, it showed the pathway from the dock to Fionntan and Keegan. Everything was beautiful, but one thing bothered me, it was the black that looked like splattered ink on the map indicating the demons around us, it made it ugly. "Any questions?" our senior asked, I looked around, I saw Jelanz raising his hand. "Yes Don Elo?" he said. "Is the Land of Kaivalya real?" he asked. I've heard of stories about Kaivalya, some say it was floating above the sky, some say it was at the edge of the world, some even say Asmodeus lives there, the Enchantress's spirit guide. Kaivalya is a land filled with magical creatures, the ones before humanity, in the old tongue Kaivalya meant Hidden Beauty. Our senior let out a chuckle, "Kaivalya is a fairytale told to children, no one's seen it, therefore is it not real. Superstition" he said. Our senior was right, no one has seen it, it wasn't real, but some part of me wants to know if it really is real.
