The rustling of leaves got louder each second. I felt my heart drop when I met the familiar gaze of my childhood. A gasp escaped from my lips as I lowered my guard down, "Vi, what's wrong who is he?" Silas asked. "Vi?" the boy said, "H-how, what-" I couldn't find the right words, I have not seen him for so long, his face looked somehow different, his cheekbones were deeper, his eyes had dark circles, the light had left his eyes, he looked...tired. Suddenly he fell to his knees, "Kyrus!" I said as I managed to catch his head right before it would hit the snow, he passed out.

"Vi, who is that?" Silas asked now in his human form, "There!"  we heard from afar, "I'll tell you later, come on Silas, we have to go," I said as I slowly stood Kyrus up. With no hesitation, Silas turned back into his wolf form and lowered himself so I could lay Kyrus on him, I then hopped on and Silas ran.

I could not believe what I was seeing, Kyrus was right in front of me, I could possibly be dreaming, but he was real. We heard gunshots erupt from behind us, "Faster, Silas," I whispered, Silas ran faster, jumping over logs, passing tree by tree. I held onto my dear friend tightly, I have so many questions, did he come alone? what happened? how did he know I was here?

Without noticing Silas had sheltered us in a cave once again, "We're safe here," he said. "Thank you, Silas," I slid off him, Silas turned into his human form, carrying the passed-out Kyrus in his arms. "Lay him here," I said, Silas then laid him by a rock. "He has a wound on his lower left stomach, he must have lost blood which is why he passed out," Silas explained as he opened Kyrus' shirt, revealing a bloody cloth wrapped around his abs. "I'll need to change it or it'll get infected, we need water," Silas said as he slowly unwrapped the cloth, "I hear a stream nearby, I'll get some water," I offered, but as I stood up Silas grabbed my cloak and ripped a piece of cloth, "Sorry," he said.

Just behind the cave was a running stream with freshwater, I filled both the bota bags I took from the Haimatians before warming it up with my light and quickly headed back to the cave where Silas was waiting. "Here," I said as I gave him the bag, Silas took it and soaked the cloth he had ripped from my cloak before whipping the excess blood on his stomach. Suddenly Kyrus silently groaned, I quickly made my way beside him, "Kyrus?" he fluttered his eyes open and I sighed in relief. "Vi? is that really you?" he asked weakly, I only nodded as I attempted to hold my tears.

Silas had finished mending his wound, Kyrus quickly sat up and we both wrapped each other in our arms. It felt so good to know he was safe, "How did you get here?" I asked as we pulled away from each other, but his attention quickly was distracted when he had noticed Silas who was sitting on a rock, "Vi, who is this?" he asked, moving further from me. Silas only looked at me, "Kyrus, this is Silas, it's a long story, but the Enchantress sent him to...serve me?" I myself found it difficult to introduce Silas, so I looked at him for help. He sighed, "My name is Silas Oblair, I-" "The Enchantress is real?" Kyrus cut in, he looked dumbfounded, and to be honest, we did sound dumb, Silas sighed roughly once again, "I'm too tired for this, Vi, you do the explaining," Silas whispered before standing up and heading out, changing into his wolf form, Kyrus' eyes grew wide, "He just turned into a wolf!" he exclaimed. "I-I know, just listen please..." I sighed. He looked at me up and down before looking away, "So you really a moon warrior huh?" he said, he did not sound happy about it, I mean I wouldn't too if I was him. I left with no explanation, and now we meet again with me being a magical being with the faith of the world in my hands. "I am..." I said, his eyebrows furrowed, "Vi, I don't get it, why did you hide it from me? I thought we were family? I thought you trusted me?" his voice sounded so hurt, and I could not bear it. "I didn't kno-" "Cut the bloody lies Vi! you cheated on the day we were tested!" this conversation was leading to an argument, and I don't like it. "I did! but it was not because I knew..." I felt the tears threatening to burst, "Then why...please, I'm so confused..." Kyrus begged, his voice in pain just as mine is. "Ky, I would never lie to hurt you..." "Well, you did! you left with no reason, so don't come back with excuses," he said as he stood up, buttoning his shirt. "I didn't leave! I was taken! I was as confused as you are that day," my voice cracked in the end as I stood up as well. "Then just tell me why-!" "Because we promised remember? I was afraid that if I really was a warrior, I would be taken away from you," at that moment the tears finally escaped, running down my cheeks. At that moment we both were silently crying, our dreams and hopes were stripped away by the pain of this world, we could only hug each other, we didn't mean to fight, we were just lost.
