After walking for quite a few hours across the scorch, we entered a town of sorts or a village perhaps. It is not covered in sand like the other ones that we have seen before, but it is noticeably old and rundown. I look around and I find myself fascinated by everything. There are so many people. They're all dressed in different colours of clothes and have drinks in their hands, they dance to the music that pounds out of the speakers, and they sing with one another. It seems as if they do not have a care in the world, even with everything that is going on out there. I wish I could be like them. Jorge walks up to a man with blonde hair who stands beside a lady, they're both talking while taking sips from their drinks occasionally.
However, the second the man looks at Jorge, he goes pale. "Hello Marcus," Jorge greets him.
"Jorge... what a pleasant surprise," the man stumbles over his words slightly. I am not sure if it is from his evident fear of Jorge or from whatever he is drinking.
"Has a young man come through here with a young lady?" Jorge asks, referring to Thomas and Brenda.
"Young man? Young lady? Uh- um... I-" He stutters.
"Answer the damn question," Jorge slams his fist onto the table that the man, Marcus is sitting at.
"If I recall correctly, yes there was a young man and young lady," Marcus nods nervously.
"Where?"
"I sent them in there," he points to a room full of sweaty bodies dancing.
"Well, how about you come join us and we can have a little chat after we find our friends, okay?" Marcus shook his head, however, Jorge grabbed onto Marcus' arm and pulls him up from his seat. "Come on," Jorge drags the man into the room that Thomas and Brenda had supposedly gone in. I look around the room for the two while squishing in between people's bodies as they danced.
"Dance with me!" A girl shouted to her. She came up and pressed our bodies together and moved our hips side to side following the beat of the music. She took my hands and moved them to my waist and she continued dancing. I looked back to the group who looked at me with widened eyes.
What the hell am I supposed to do?
I took a step back, removing my hands from the girls hips. "I'm sorry, but I have to go back to my friends!" I tell her, speaking loud enough so the girl could hear me over the loud music. I turn around quickly before she could try to stop me and I walk back to the group where they stand in a corner, eyes wider than a bug.
"Good job, kid," Marcus says to me, raising his hand for a high five. I lower his hand down and shake my head.
"No. Not the time for a high five, dude."
"Wanna get a drink with me?" A man's voice came. They all turned around to see a man about six feet tall and was shirtless, his abs and muscles out on display. He is looking at Newt to which the blonde boy blushes profusely when realizing the guy had asked him.
