💌 01 // the start of a new beginning.

"But mom, I don't want to go." Shuichi grunted as he stared at his mom while she was cooking fried eggs for breakfast.

"I don't get why you're so resistant to go to Hope's Peak. I don't see anything wrong with it." Shuichi's mom, Aki, argued back.

"Fine, I'll go then .." Shuichi hissed, finally giving up. He was about to get up and go to his room.

"Perfect. Pack your stuff, and I'll help you go. I'll really miss you though. I hope you can find friends there." Aki smiled as she cheered up.

"Y-yeah mom, I will. Thanks, I'll miss you too." Shuichi stuttered as he got up the brown stairs in his house.

Shuichi's mind was blank, just blank. He had absolutely no idea what Hope's Peak was going to be like. But one thing was, he definitely hoped Kokichi wouldn't be there. Kokichi and Shuichi have been rivals for 5 years, and it all started with Kokichi stealing Shuichi's teddy bear named Fluff. And that happened when he was just 6. 

Since then, they've been enemies for as long as he could remember. Sometimes he just wished the other wouldn't bother him so much. But he couldn't do anything about it. He obviously would not force Kokichi not to get near him, that's for sure

However, they haven't met since they were 11. 

"Shuichi Saihara! Pack your things, why are you starting blankly at the ceiling!?" Shuichi's mom shouted with anger, but he knew she didn't actually mean it.

"Yeah mom, coming, hold on." The blue-hair groaned.

As Shuichi packed his things, he just kept wondering how life would be at his new school. Would he make friends? Probably not. He always thought that he didn't know how to communicate to new people properly without stuttering, at all.

"Alright mom, I'm ready." Shuichi uttered to his mom.

"Perfect!" Aki exclaimed, "Get in now, I'll drive you."

"Mom, I think I can go myself, it's fine." Shuichi mumbled as he looked at the ground.

"No, no, it's fine. I'll drive you, I still wanna see my Shuichi before he goes," Aki smiled, "I'll really miss you. Make sure to take care of yourself!"

"It's fine mom, I will." He responded with a smile of pure joy.

As his mom dropped him off at the gate of Hope's Peak, she wished him another goodbye, this time nearly shedding tears, and left.

This was it.

Hope's Peak Academy.

He took a step in.

"Saihara-Kun!" He heard a feminine but soft voice call for him, "I haven't seen you in so long! How are you?"

He turned to see his old childhood best friend, Kaede Akamatsu. Kaede was an outgoing, enthusiastic girl who loved playing the piano. They've been friends since they've been 5 but they separated at 2nd grade as Kaede had to move to another school.

"Hey, Kaede. I'm fine, what about you?" The tall, navy-haired boy smiled.

"I'm fine too, that's great to hear. However, there's some bad news .." She whispered with a disappointed-looking face.

"What is it? It can't be that bad .." the other uttered.

"There's Ouma here." The shorter, blonde-hair murmured.
