"Oh my god, goddamnit, you idiot of a detective, Shuichi. For the 13th time: Wake. Up!" Kokichi shouted louder as he shook Shuichi's body which was currently asleep.
"What the fuck, Mom!?" Shuichi screamed, startled at the sudden movement, "Oh, um sorry, hi, Kokichi."
"Finally, god, that took sixty-nine centuries," Kokichi sighed, "Now wake up, we needa go to school, idiot."
"Kokichi .. it's 6:28 AM," Shuichi groaned as he stared at his phone.
"Aaand?" Kokichi asked.
"School starts at 7:45 .." Shuichi sighed.
"Fuck, my bad," Kokichi apologized, "I thought it started at 6:45."
"Well, I might as well just take a shower and make us some .. breakfast. Or technically not make breakfast, I can't cook," Shuichi said, "Anyways, enough about my rambling. I'm gonna take a shower now, bye Kokichi."
As Shuichi carefully closed the door, Kokichi groaned, "How boring."
Though, he then decided to check out his room to cure his boredom.
"What's thiiiiiis?" He asked as he picked up a book on a shelf, with eyes full of curiousity.
" 𝘚𝘩𝘶𝘪𝘤𝘩𝘪 𝘚𝘢𝘪𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘢'𝘴 𝘋𝘪𝘢𝘳𝘺. "
"Hm?" His eyes were locked on the cover, which also had a sticky note stuck on it, which read:
" 𝘋𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴, 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶'𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘺 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵. "
"How interesting," Kokichi smirked as he opened the book, "A little peek won't hurt, right? I'm sure he won't mind it. What's the worst that could happen?"
He skipped a couple pages, you'd ask: Why? His response would be: "I wanna skip to the good part, because the first couple pages are always boring."
He turned to a page somewhere in the middle which also read:
" 𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘳𝘺,
𝘐𝘵'𝘴 𝘮𝘺 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘢𝘵 𝘏𝘰𝘱𝘦'𝘴 𝘗𝘦𝘢𝘬. 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘪𝘵? 𝘐𝘵 𝘧𝘦𝘭𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 — 𝘐 𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸. 𝘐 𝘨𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯'𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘣𝘢𝘥. 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘩, 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘥𝘦𝘴 𝘒𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘤𝘩𝘪 𝘐 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘦. "How optimistic of him. Maybe I can say the same about him too. Although I really wanna steal that stupid hat off his face, he's not that had of a guy," Kokichi chuckled to himself. He was in the process of opening another page, until his actions were interrupted by the sound of the door opening.
And of course, it was none other than: Shuichi Saihara. And that's not even the worst part, Kokichi was caught red-handed looking through 𝘩𝘪𝘴 diary.
"Kokichi I'm bac — is that my diary!?" Shuichi shouted, his arm immediately reaching to grab it back.
"Aww man! I've been caught! That's a shame," Kokichi pouted, but it was obvious he didn't feel even the slightest amount of guilt.
Shuichi just sighed in response while trying to stop the other boy's arm from flipping another page, "Give it back, Kokichi."
"Fine. Take it, then," Kokichi groaned as he gave the diary back to him.
"How many pages did you read .. ?" Shuichi asked, his face showing a light tint of embarrassment.
"Only one. The one about you moving to Hope's Peak and how you were so shocked that I was there too, but still decided to be optimistic about it," Kokichi grinned.
Shuichi sighed in relief, "Thank god .. Anyways, come outside with me. I have some leftover food for breakfast, I think. If I don't, I'll just make us some toast."
"Okay!" Kokichi replied, grinning as he walked out the door.
//
"You sure you can make the toast yourself? Make sure you don't burn anything," Kokichi said, teasing the taller male.
"Yes. I'm 100% positive that I won't, thank you very much," He replied. It was obvious he looked quite annoyed, but hell he had a great amount of patience.
"Hmph. You're no fun," Kokichi groaned as he took a seat on the dinner table.
"Okay, I'm done," He said as he spread out some plates with an equal amount of slices of bread on both of them.
"That'll be $10." Shuichi teased.
"Hey! You never mentioned that staying over would cost money!" Kokichi groaned, pretending to be mad.
This statement made Shuichi chuckle, "Okay, okay."
"This actually tastes nice," Kokichi mumbled.
"Don't mention it. It's technically just some pieces of bread I put in the toaster with some butter on it," Shuichi said.
Kokichi rolled his eyes, "I guess you're right, but it's still good."
//
After the two ate, Shuichi decided it would be time for them to actually go to school.
"Kokichi, c'mon let's go," Shuichi said.
"Go where?" Kokichi said, sarcastically.
"Kokichi, you already know where we're gonna go," Shuichi groaned.
"Are you kidnapping me!?" Kokichi cried jokingly.
This caused Shuichi to reply, "Yes, now come on."
Kokichi pouted, "Jeez, how straightforward."
And then, the two finally took off and made their way to Hope's Peak.
