As Shuichi walked down the hallway, he observed his surroundings with curiosity. There were so many people, all caught up in their own things. He made sure he would not be late, definitely not for his first class. He arrived early and had about 5 minutes of spare time. He tried his best to socialize or try and make some friends, but it just didn't work.

"Oh no," Shuichi mumbled to himself.
He had been late for 2 minutes, and this definitely was not looking good. Late for his first class? That was absolutely ridiculous. He rushed as fast as he could, making sure he didn't walk into the wrong room.
"Hi, sorry, I —" His words were cut off as the teacher chimed in.words were cut off as the teacher chimed in.
"There you are, Shuichi Saihara," A calm, stern voice greeted him, "You can sit next to Ouma over there."
As the teacher pointed to the empty seat beside Kokichi, Shuichi quickly sat beside him while the teacher explained other things. He heard some whispers and gasps from the other students, but he tried to brush it off.
"To introduce myself, my name is Kyoko Kirigiri. I will be teaching some lessons for you." She said.
"Hm, are you bothered that you need to sit beside me, Shuichi?" The short boy snickered as he put his hands behind his head, "Don't worry, I can behave. I think."
"You think," The taller male replied, "I've known you since we were in kindergarden and you've never really .. behaved."
"Aw, Saihara - Chan remembers that!" The other smiled.
Shuichi tried to focus, but Kokichi just kept bothering him. He didn't stop until the teacher said, "Oh, and we have a new student here. Saihara, could you come up and introduce yourself to the class?"
"Ah — right, um .. My name is Shuichi Saihara. You can call me Shuichi, I guess. And um, I'm the Ultimate Detective."
"Thank you, Saihara. You can go back now." She replied, "Anyways, please turn your book to page . . . ."

"That was one .. not very exciting class .. " Shuichi thought to himself, "But it's only my first say here, what can I say? I don't have experience."
"Hello," a brown-haired girl with pigtails came up to him, "You're new, right?"
