Star Wars Rebels: Family

The Last Battle/Part 1

The Ghost descends into the atmosphere of the planet Agamar and the Ghost lands near the wreck of a former Separatist supply ship. The ramp opens and the rebels disembark from the ship.

Hera says "You're sure you don't need help?"

Kanan says "I'm sure everything will go horribly wrong."

Ezra says "We'll be fine. We got a Colon Wars veteran with us."

Kanan says "Ready, Captain?"

Rex says "Yes, sir. Uh, General. Kanan."

Kanan, Zeb, Luna, Ezra, Chopper, and Rex walk towards the wreck ship while Hera and Sabine goes back onto the Ghost and departs into space.

Rex says "There was a battle here during the Clone War. This old transport's the perfect place to find weapons, ammo, maybe even some proton bombs."

Ezra picks up a droid's head and says "Hey, was this a Separatist battle droid?"

Rex says "Oh, yeah. Little piece of one anyway. This place used to be crawling with'em. We called'em clankers."

Luna says "Clankers."

Zeb chuckles and says "I like that. How many of these things do you think you blasted?"

Rex says "I don't know. Thousands. Probably tens of thousands. Never kept count like some of the boys."

Ezra says "They don't look very dangerous."

Ezra drops the droid's head and Rex says "Listen, those droids wiped out a lot of Republic troopers. Many of them were my friends."

Kanan says "Rex has been though a lot. Battle leaves scars, some you can't see."

The rebels walk among the transport's munitions depots and Rex says "Hold up. Let me recon first. Well, look at that. We hit pay dirt. The munitions depot is fully loaded. More proton bombs in there than we can carry."

Kanan says "Good job, Rex."

Ezra says "Way to go, Captain."

The rebels walk over to the supplies and Rex says "Hey, careful, kid. The droids used to protect their armories with ray shields."

Ezra says "What's a ray shiel..."

The rebels find themselves trapped inside a ray shield and Rex says "This is a ray shield."

Ezra sees scores of battle droids and says "Look! Aren't those battle droids? I thought they were all shut down."

Zeb says "Well, these weren't."

One of the battle droids says "You have been captured by the Separatist Alliance."

Rex says "Huh? Separatists?"

One of the battle droids says "Prepare to blast the Republic invaders."

Kanan says "Republic invaders?"

One of the battle droids says "Belay that order. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Roger, roger."

Ezra says "Wait, who's Roger?"

One of the battle droids says "We have new orders. Incapacitate and capture. Activating stunner."

The rebels say "No."

The rebels get stunned and all of them grunt and fall to the floor.

Later, the rebels wake up and Kanan says "Rex. Rex!"

Rex says "Cody!"

Kanan says "Talk to me."

Rex says "Ah, Kanan. I'm sorry. I thought you were someone else."

Kanan says "I need you here now, buddy. We're in the usual mess. I think the commander's a super tactical droid."

The tactical droid walks over to the rebels and Rex says "Ah, you're right. He is."

Ezra says "Is that bad?"

Rex says "It's really bad. That droid's extremely intelligent."

The tactical droid says "Near the end of the war, Separatist droids significantly outnumbered Republic units. By my calculations, our probability of being defeated was only 23.6%."

Rex says "After Clone Order 66, the whole droid army was given a shutdown command. How are you even operating?"

The tactical droid says "The Jedi betrayal ended the war for most of the galaxy. But here on Agamar, I assumed it was a Republic trick and prevented the shutdown command."

Rex says "Well, it doesn't matter how it ended. The war is over. Let us go."

The tactical droid says "Negative, Captain. I calculate that this will be my only opportunity to end the Clone Wars as I planned, with a victory for the Separatist Alliance."

Rex says "What do you want us to do? Surrender?"

The tactical droid says "On the contrary, I want you to fight, to prove, once and for all, whose tactical strategy was superior."

Zeb says "Well, you can count me and my wife out. We're not playing some stupid war game."

The tactical droid says "That is correct, Lasat."

Luna says "Come again?"

The tactical droid says "Your species were not in the Clone Wars and pregnant women were not in the war either, so you both will be the hostages your allies must save. The Jedi Rescue is a recurring scenario based on 132 battles I have reviewed."

Ezra says "Yeah, we've done it a few times."

The tactical droid says "Jedi, is this your Padawan?"

Kanan says "Most of the time."

The tactical droid says "Good. A complete set of Republic opponents will make this authentic."

Rex says "No, it won't, because we're not fighting."

The tactical droid says "If you will not fight, you will be terminated."

Ezra says "I'll fight your Clone War."

Rex says "What?"

Kanan says "Ezra, no!"

Ezra says "Hey, you both talk about the Clone Wars. What it was like, the good and the bad. I wanna help you win this last battle. Besides, look at them. How can we lose?"

Kanan sighs and says "Okay, it might be easier to fight them head on than to get out of our current dilemma."

Rex exhales and says "Fine. Fine, we'll do it."

Ezra says "Okay, but is we win, Zeb and Luna go free, and we take all the proton bombs in the hangar."

The tactical droid says "I accept your terms."

The tactical droid let's Kanan, Ezra, and Rex leave and get ready for the battle while Zeb and Luna stay.

Once Kanan, Ezra, and Rex are outside, the tactical droid says, into the PA "The objective of this battle is simple. You must fight your way back to my command center and capture it to free your friends. The last will being now."

The tactical droid, a couple of battle droids, Zeb, and Luna watch Kanan, Ezra, and Rex fight the battle droids on some kind of screen.
