Kate was shopping at the time. Going into her favourite shops for clothes, shoes, DVDs, CDs or whatever it was she wanted. The streets seemed peaceful. Not quiet or unoccupied but not, full up of raging people. Granted their new mayor had just been burnt to death, everyone seemed okay.
"Morning Kate." Bruce said as she walked into the shop. Bruce was her cousin and a close one too. "Hi Bruce." She waved and approached the counter he stood behind. "What can I help you with? A DVD? A CD? What about some nice new authentic vinyls? We got tonnes shipped in yesterday." He expressed, flailing his hands in the air like the gigantic geek he was. He was very stylish. With blue skinny jeans and a black t-shirt speckled with white dots. His arms were tattooed with black ink. He had no beard but he had stubble. Black stubble. Black to match his raven black hair. Kate smiled and pointed to a mint condition Doors vinyl. "Is that a Doors vinyl? Oh my god, Bruce you know how much I love the Doors!" Bruce smiled and turned to see the vinyl his cousin was so excited about; "Oh that. That...urrr... the manager wants to keep that for herself but forgot to take it off display." He said quietly. Kate frowned and replied back; "But if it's on display, it's for sale." Bruce shrugged and wasn't sure of what to say. But then he realised, the radio had stopped blurting out the latest trendy music. Instead a voice was beginning to be heard.
"Hello citizens of CaveTown," said the voice through the static speaker; "I am Snake. Also known as Bradley Gates. Recently I have been getting up to many things regarding the future of this city. I'm sure you all know of the robberies, Moon Industries robbery and the Mayor's death? Well I'm behind it all! Don Falcon and Dong have helped me with all of my crimes. For example, just two hours ago my men killed every guard or part of staff in the prison and released all prisoners. They are under my control. As for this city, you will do as I ask in future broadcasts like this one otherwise; I detonate the bomb I stole from Moon Industries. The bomb's explosion is so big; a whole town can be destroyed. So, just to be clear; you do as I ask or everyone will burn. I'll be in touch!" The radio went dead and the music carried on playing as it left off from.
Kate and Bruce rushed outside and-to their surprise-everyone was screaming and rushing around in fear and sheer shock.
