Chapter Four
The weekend, the parties
“You ready?” Blythe asks me as I sit in the chair, laying on my stomach I smile eagerly.
“What do you think?” I ask him teasingly.
I am sitting in the tattoo parlor, after another long day at school I had something to look forward to. Blythe and I were getting our second tattoos and I was anything but nervous.
“Alright, here we go.” Bobby says, pressing the needle into my skin, making me smile.

“I fucking love it!” I screech as we ride home. I am twisted in my seat, looking at my new ink in the side mirrors. Blythe laughs at me and I look over to him, seeing his shirt sleeve pulled up, showing off his new tattoo also.
I shake my head, chuckling slightly. “You wimp! You can’t even let the shirt brush against it!” I laugh.
He looks over to me and his mouth falls open and his eyes widen in disbelief.
“What!? Look at you! You’re not so tough either!” he exclaims, nodding to my appearance. My shirt I rolled up and tied into a knot, taking the appearance of what looks like a bathing suit top.
“Mines bigger than yours!” I protest, knowing it was a lie.
“Bull shit! Yours the size of my fricken pinky! Mine’s the size of my hand!”
I laugh and twist in my seat again, looking at the black ink. Yet again I got a pure black one, I didn’t want color in mine. I smile at the angel wings that sprout out from in between my shoulder blades and look back to Blythe, making sure the fabric of his seat doesn’t touch my skin.
I take in his and smile, tipping my head to look at it more closely. His laces around his upper bicep, if you don’t look at it close enough you would think it was only a black ring that went around his arm, but if you did look at it carefully, you would see that is was a dragon. Its whole body wraps around his arm, its mouth wide open as it blows fire at the skin above his tail. It was pretty neat looking.
We pull up into my driveway and I take a deep breath. My mother hadn’t approved of my first tattoo, especially since I hadn’t asked her for permission. You see, this is the advantages of having a eighteen year old friend whose uncle just so happens to run the tattoo parlor. So aside from the discounts, we get by without having to have our parents’ permission. Lucky for me, he also has a girl who does piercings, that is who did my belly button.
“You ready for this?” he asks me and I smile.
“Why wouldn’t I be? I have done it twice already.” I smile before getting out of the car and groaning loudly, he comes to stand by me and follows the gaze to the black BMW that sits in our driveway.
“They keep taking my parking place.” He mutters unhappily and I crack a smile, ignoring the thought of who was in my house, who I had to face.
“Let’s do this I guess.” I mutter before tromping up to the front door. I throw it open and walk inside, ignoring the happy laughter that floats to my ears as I pass the living room and into the kitchen, grabbing me and Blythe both cans of soda just like I did that first night they got here.
