JK POV

The night grew colder with every minute that passed. There was an occasional gust of wind that scattered leaves everywhere. I just sat, leaned up against the cave as I looked up into the clouded sky. The grey clouds blocked the stars from shining and there was a faded moon.

I sighed as I thought about what happened. For the first time, I was truly afraid.

I walked back into the cave only to see V laid still. I could hear his small breaths but I couldn't really see him due to the darkness. I stumbled over next to him and held onto his hand.

His hand was cold. It didn't feel good to me. I quickly placed my head on V's chest to fortunately hear a heartbeat (when you hear my heartbeat baby, you give me a new life you gave me a new birth:).

I calmed myself down and mentally told myself that V was okay. I quickly stepped back outside to get some fresh air.

"JK?" My head whipped around only to see Suno and Sato walking out of the cave.

"Should sleep." I mumbled.

"Well yeah YOU should sleep." Sato responded.

"Don't worry, V is strong and he will be fine." Suno tried to comfort. I knew that V was strong. Anyone can see that. But being strong can't beat a bullet.

I walked back to the spot against the cave again. Right when I sat down there was a loud

BANG!

I quickly shot up and took off. All I could think about now was finding the person that hurt V.

"JK WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU GOING" was all I could hear before racing to the sound.

It wasn't far and my hearing helped me locate exactly where the person was. I landed a bit further and walked the rest of the way, trying to blend in with the shadows of trees.

When I reached the location my eyes widened. Foxes. Those hairy beasts stood holding guns. Their eyes glowed red as they continued to shoot a flock of ducks in the bond. They viscously devoured each duck, blood spraying everywhere. The feathers were being carried by the wind. Each feather stained with blood.

I watched as they shot aimlessly towards the sky. It sounded like the fireworks we saw on TV.

Those were the ones that shot V.

That's all it took before all I could see was red. I immediately shot out from the bush I was hiding in and tackled the closest Fox to me.

I didn't care. I needed to avenge V. They fucking hurt him.

And that's all it takes.

Suno POV

"WHAT THE HELL?!" I yelled out as I watched JK disappear into the distant.

I looked at Sato. The two of us had been mind linking each other since it didn't feel right talking out loud while JK was upset. Now JK had just taken off without any notice.

Sato quickly ran back in to check on V. V still remained unmoved.

"What should we do? We can't just leave V here." Sato asked but honestly I had no idea either.

"I don't know what should we do?" I ask.

"I asked you first" Sato stated.

"Well I asked you again" I responded.

We continued to go back and forth as we panicked. We were never placed in such a situation before and we really didn't know what to do.

"JK knows how to get back right?" I ask. Sato seemed to understand what I was on and nodded.

"He would probably want us to watch V." Sato said. We agreed and decided to stay and wait for JK to comeback. Sato had flown down to retrieve some more leaves for V. We took turns flying down, gathering some fruits and berries along the way so that when V woke up, he could eat.

Once we gathered enough, the two of us just sat on the edge of the cliff so that our legs were hanging off.

"I've never seen JK so panicked before." Sato said. "I wonder how they survived the lab for so long? Didn't they enter like way before we did?" Sato continued.

"Yeah. We were lucky to be rescued by V and JK. I mean we did so much already that we never expected we would ever get to do in the lab." I said as I swung my legs back and forth.

"You think V and JK will stay with us forever? I mean I know they aren't that kind of people but like what if we face a time when they can no longer protect themselves or us?" I rant.

"I mean it's true foxes are coming at any given moment but I think the four of us make a great team." Sato reassured.

The two of us just sat in silence for the rest of the night. Usually we would have lots to talk about but today just didn't feel right. With V injured and JK gone, everything just felt empty.

We watched as the sun began to rise. All the dark clouds had cleared up and the sky was painted a dark orange. The view was mesmerizing but I felt like I couldn't enjoy it without V and JK. I turned to look at Sato who had sad eyes. He watched the sunrise with a sad expression. I decided to flick his forehead to snap him out of his trance.

"Ow what was that for?!" Sato frowned at me.

"Let's go check if V is okay still." I said standing up and walking back to the cave. I crouched down a bit since I was kinda tall for the cave. Sato and I have grown quite a lot and I would say we are almost taller than V now.

We probably wouldn't even pull of for a ten year old anymore.

We walked into the cave and saw V. Nothing had really changed. V still laid there, unmoving.

"You think JK will comeback?" I asked Sato who responded with a shrug.

"All we can really do is wait." Sato said.

The two of us just sat around. It didn't feel right. For the first time in a long time, it felt kind of lonely. Although Sato is here with me, without JK and V nothing felt right.

When would this be over?
