What now?

The next morning JK and I were awoken by the twins who were looking a lot better than before. They seemed more calm and relaxed rather than anxious with anxiety levels that are off the charts. I smiled at them before sitting up and stretching, JK doing the same. I took a deep breath in and squinted up at the sun. We didn't really have a sense of time for obvious reasons but I just assumed it was around noon since the sun was up and blazing. Luckily the large tree gave us enough shade so that we wouldn't become fried chicken.

"So what are we doing today?" Sato asked.

Now that we no longer had school, no longer trapped in a cage and no longer in the urban area, there wasn't a lot we really needed to do. We had all the time for ourselves, living in freedom. We didn't really have a direction we needed to go and no urgency to be anywhere.

After what happened with Appa, who knows if he's still alive. He might as well just be dead. His leg was amputated by JK and his entire laboratory caught fire. I hope we won't have to see or deal with him ever again. Of course, that would be the ideal but who really knows? One day or another we are going to have to head into the city to find out what really had happened. To everyone else, a lab had just caught on fire. If the fire really did burn down everything, there wouldn't be any evidence left of what monstrosities of a hell happened in the lab. Although I am not too upset by that, I am more curious as to whether they had found a body. More specifically a body of a man with with an amputated leg.

"V? Earth to V.." Sato called snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Oh! I'm not too sure.. Do you guys have anything in mind?" I said as an almost panic response. In truth, my mind has had some thoughts on what to do next. Whether it was the right direction to go, I don't know...

"Let's hunt." JK suggested. He was fidgeting with his arms crossed as he leaned against a tree. It was obvious someone was hungry.

"Lead the way" I chuckled before following close behind JK who already started making his way deeper into the forest.

"Wait up!" Suno and Sato called out as they quickly tailed behind us.

It wasn't long before we found a wild boar. JK quickly jumped it and ended its life rather quickly. Suno and Sato seemed to already understand the memo and had gathered some wood to create a fire. Me, on the other hand, decided to gather some berries and other edible plants.

Eventually we were all able to sit around the fire and eat together. JK had laid back down, an arm over his eyes to block the sunlight. I looked over at him and couldn't help but smile. JK must have been just as uncomfortable as the twins were being back and around with other people. He's strong for that, handling everything as if it was no problem but deep down, I knew he was just as worried and protective and maybe even a bit scared. I guess he wanted to have a strong front as to not cause anymore panic within the twins and myself. 

My mind then traveled, what are we going to do next? Of course we could and probably will live in the forest for the time being. There is no reason for us to head back to the city, though a part of me wanted to thank everyone, especially Jimin, Namjoon and Jin for coming back for us. Though, I don't believe now would be a good time, especially with the commotion about the lab fire is "hot" news. 

We may not be a dictionary defined human but we were part of one. Our time we got to live as a full human and attend school was one of the best things to ever happen to us. Should we really be avoiding that if we enjoyed it? We could hide our powers, but doesn't that seem like we're always having to run away.

"Y'know if you keep making that face, you'll have wrinkles on your forehead" JK said. I quickly snapped out of my deep thoughts and unscrunched my face, making sure my forehead was nice and smooth before looking over to JK who was still in the same position. 

How did he even see me? His arm is literally blocking his eyes?!

"I'll have you know, my skin is glowing, no wrinkles in sight yet!" I responded.

JK let out a soft chuckle before mumbling an "I know."

But of course I heard it and blushed a little at his response. The twins were taking a swim by the lake not to far from here to beat the heat. It was just JK and I. 

"What's on your mind?" JK suddenly asks.

"nothing..."  I replied. It was just me overthinking again without thinking of any real solution to my problems. JK didn't respond for a while. It was silent. 

"Don't lie." 

I suddenly felt shivers down my spine. It wasn't threatening or anything, his voice just made me weak. 

I sighed, "what should we do now? I feel like right now its best to just hide away from everything but I feel like eventually we would feel like we would want to go back and live as humans. We are at least half human and will want to do human things and eat more delicious foods and see all our friends. Not to mention, thank the people that helped us. Also get some closure on what happened to Appa." 

It was silent for a while. JK didn't move an inch and continued to lay there. His chest moving up and down as he took deep breaths. After what felt like eternity, JK sat up and looked me straight in the eyes. His intense eye contact made my eyes trail away as I grew nervous.

"Let's take things one at a time... The first step would be to build a house... I mean we can't live outside forever. A house in the forest, just like Jin and Namjoon, except ours will be built for us." JK responded. It seemed like he knew exactly what he wanted to build and had planned this for a while. 

"How do you know how to build a house?" I ask. At this point I wasn't even shocked, JK knows how to do basically everything!

"Jin and Namjoon had some books..." JK muttered.

I laughed "I guess we're building a house then!"
