Felix's POV...
"Is..is t-this for m-me?" I asked anxiously. I was almost certain it wasn't, but why would he put tiny bits of doughnut next to me? "Of course it is, silly!" Carlos chuckled. My eyes lit up and I began to take small bites of the large crumbs. It made my mouth explode with flavor and texture, the best thing I had eaten in a long time. I felt awkward eating there, because not only was it the first time I was allowed to eat something so delicious, but because Carlos was staring at me while I was eating. "U-um.." I stuttered, looking up at him quizzically. "Oh! Sorry, I spaced out." he jumped. I watched him look over at the clock to check the time, and he sat up immediately. "Oh my god, I completely forgot about the parade! Um..listen, I have a parade to attend, so..I don't really- Oh! I could just keep you-" he jumped and placed me in a jar, where he stabbed tiny holes in the lid and dropped some more crumbs in.
Carlos' POV
I jumped and suddenly remembered the time - the parade was commending soon! I carefully placed Felix in my jar, dropping some crumbs in, as there was no where else to put him, and I didn't want to lose him. I adjusted my collar and dashed off to the living room, where my parents were waiting. "Come on Carlos! We're going to be late!" they said sternly, dragging me outside where we were met with hundreds of people waiting in line. I sighed. This was going to be a long day..
Felix's POV...
It wasn't very comfortable sitting in the jar, but at least I had food. I began to start nibbling at the crumbs again but jumped at the sound of a large crowd cheering outside. What was happening outside? I peeked out the window and spotted a large flag hovering there. It started to move away from its position, revealing the bright, glistening sun. It was a hot day, and it didn't help that Carlos had put my jar right next to the window, displaying it for the sun to consume. I was starting to sweat. A minute passed, and it was absolutely scorching. Within a few seconds, dark clouded up my world, and nothing could be seen.
Carlos' POV
The parade went on quicker than I expected. Many people left it halfway, which my parents considered rude, but I don't blame them, it was boring as hell! I had completely forgotten about Felix, but when I saw the small, motionless figure lying there in the searing heat, panic and guilt started to devour me. I raced over to the jar, worried, and took Felix out. "Felix?! Are you okay?! Please wake up.." I stuttered shakily. I couldn't have lost him! I just couldn't have!
