The whole school was way too excited.

I mean, I was too, I was going to earn my rightful, real place as queen of the RainWings.

I hoped Tsunami, not Anemone would win the contest because having to work with Anemone is NOT fun at all.

Just saying

Deathy held my hand as we walked down the hallway (shut up Kinkajou)

TSUNAMI was holding RIPTIDE'S hand and NOBODY was teasing THEM about it ahem.

"I'm absolutely positive that you princesses will win the competition one hundred percent," deathy said. "Moon though... do I really want my little sister to boss me around?"

"Yes," Moon called from up ahead.

"Queen Moon," Deathy grumbled.

"Queen Glory," I said, nudging him.

Deathy smiled at me and kissed my check.

"BLEH," Kinkajou declared and sauntered off.

The next day, I woke up to Kinkajou's face in mine, waving a ton of letters kn my face. "GLORY," she shouted IN MY FACE, "THE RESULTS,"

I sprang up and ran into the main room, where everyone was waiting.

"To the MudWings, SandWings, SkyWings, SeaWings, IceWings, RainWings, and NightWings," kinkajou gave out the letters, keeping the RainWing letter to herself.

Clay ripped open the letter and scanned it. We waited in anticipation.

"Alligator Murkwater," Clay Said.

Alligator. The girl who said that she would offer better dormitories. I should have guessed.

Sunny tore open her letter. Her face slowly lit up.

She didn't have time to say anything before Tsunami pounced on her, shouting, "YOURE A QUEEN,"

We all bowed to her. "Queen Sunny of the SandWings," we said

Sunny blushed and hid her face with the letter.

"Thorn would be so proud," Qibli promised.

Peril slowly opened her letter. Her face remained the same. "It was a tie," she said. "Between Ember and me. There will be a new voting tomorrow,"

"That's awesome!" Clay smiled at Peril.

"I hope to see you on the SkyWing throne," Sunny said kindly.

Tsunami glanced around and carefully opened her letter. She read it slowly.

Could she read ANY SLOWER?

"I won," She finally said. "but... poor Anemone."

"Hey, the teachers did say that you can choose a second in command if you want," Starflight said. "Anemone can be second in command."

"In that case," Tsunami agreed.

"QUEEN TSUNAMI," Riptide bellowed.

"That was my ear," Tsunami said, and Riptide kissed her on the forehead in response.

Winter, who of course there was no IceWing available, opened the letter. "There will be a separate voting for them," Winter said. "So the school chose me to be their representative for now."

"Queen Winter," Qibli said immediately.

Winter smacked him.

"RainWings," Kinkajou said, and because she had obviously read it before, said importantly, "Queen Glory of the RainWings,"

I shrugged. "Hello my fellow queens,"

"King," Winter corrected.

"Queen," Qibli said.

Deathy read over the NightWing letter. His face fell.

"That's a good sign," Moon observed. "Deathbringer never feels happy for me,"

"I do, Queen Moony," Deathy snapped.

"Chill," I said, and since he looked so upset, I kissed him on the cheek. "Moon can still pick you as second in command,"

"Like that would happen, second commander Deathbringer," Moon said with a sarcastic eye roll.
