am hopefully back for good this time. how many times a week should i update this?
Kinkajou
Sooooo class wasn't going to well.
I did manage to shift and oh my moons I was gorgeous.
My long tail could grab FOOD and stuff, and my wings literally blew all the papers off of the tables. The teachers were not ok when that happened.
Flight lesson was a total train wreck, and physical training was a car crash.
Venom training went slightly better, but only because it was just us RainWings and we thankfully had iron armor to repel the venom.
Next was camouflage.
This was just us RainWings as well.
"Focus on your background," Glory instructed.
Jambu turned into a pineapple.
"That's not what's behind you," Glory barked.
"My bad," Jambu said and turned into a giant smiley face.
"OH DEAR MOONS," Glory squawked, flapping her face. "that's TERRIFYING,"
I had to admit it kinda was because all that was visible of Jambu was this giant 😀 and it's more scary in person.
A few other students followed Jambu's lead and soon the entire class was something like this:
😀😃😄🙂☺️🤓😝🤩😀😀😀😀😀😀😒😔☹️😭😬😑🫤😐🍊
The fruit was Coconut by the way.
Glory sighed. "Alright, everyone in the air,"
We flapped into the air.
After a bunch of more yelling and a bunch of threats to venom people, we lined up.
"Alright," Glory instructed. "Who wants to be beaten by a bunch of angry SeaWings and NightWings?"
"Does losing mean more sleeping?" Coconut asked.
"I'm down," another piped up.
Glory stared up at the sky and seemed to wonder why by the moons we were so helpless.
"It means no food," I said, saving my sister. "No sleeping either. We would be forced to serve a NightWing against our will, working all day and no sleeping,"
That got everyone's attention.
"Right," Glory said, giving me a thankful look. "What she said. Anyways, I've set up an obstacle course just for us RainWings. Complete it, and you'll get a day off tomorrow to do whatever you want. unlimited FOOD, unlimited NAPS, you name it. You just have to complete this course,"
I've gotta say, that got even me intrigued.
whispers of excitement rippled through us. Unlimited food?
HECK
YES
>:D
I was determined to finish this.
Glory led us to a large clearing, where large hoops were suspended in the air, held up by helper dragons, large sheets of leaves held up by large dragons with armor, and a long row of dragons sitting in the trees, each with a blowgun, aiming at the center of the row, with a bunch of cushions at the bottom.
"The rings are simple," Glory said. "Just fly through them. Then you have to use your venom to hit the leaves to melt them and fly through. Then use your camouflage to hide from the dragons with blowguns. If you are caught, they will stun you, and you will fall onto the cushions. It won't hurt, but you won't be able to move for ten minutes." she looked at every single one of us. "got it?"
We all nodded. A free day tomorrow is worth it.
First up was Papaya. No idea who that is.
But she didn't make it. Sad to say, she floundered straight into the hoops and took down at least two dragons.
The next few didn't make it either. Honestly, the farthest anyone has gotten was the venom shooting. This boy named Sloth spat a perfect hole, but then flew right to the side of it.
I have no idea what his goal was there.
Jambu made it, with a little trouble, but he made it. I would say the little flicker of a smiley face should have caused him to get stunned, but lucky him, the dragons didn't see it.
And now it was my turn.
The hoops were perfectly aligned, so if I took a strong enough start, I can twirl right through them. I was pretty small, so if I tuck my wings close, I should make the spiral.
I was right; and soon enough, I was at the leaves. I conjured up every possible venom drop I could and spit it at the leaves. My momentum from the hoops carried me right through the gaping hole that was created.
Instantly, I thought of the blue sky, the green grass and the lush trees. I vanished.
I passed by them effortlessly. Just as I was about to turn back, something smacked into me, and I was barreled into the trees. It happened so fast, I couldn't even register what had happened.
I doubt the others had too.
When the shock of my capturing wore off, I found that there was someone holding my snout shut. They were invisible. A RainWing as well.
"Got her?" someone asked. Unknown. Female.
"Yup," said another one, close to my ear. A male. Young, maybe my age? He must be the one holding my snout shut. "But honestly, why must we risk the wrath of Glory here? There are far more dangerous dragons elsewhere,"
"You know his orders," the first dragon scoffed. "The strongest from each tribe, but the queens and princesses are strongly prohibited."
"So why aren't the second in commands prohibited?" the boy grumbled.
"Uran," the first dragon snapped. "Quit complaining. you already got her. Now let's get out of here,"
I struggled, and turned every possible color I could.
"Oh gosh darn it," the boy muttered. There were a lot of shuffling, and then a faint shape of a lean, wiry young dragon appeared, hiding me from view. "Listen here, second in command Kinkajou. I'm a RainWing. Just like you. Except I don't have my snout closed. You stop struggling, and you'll be safe."
I hated to admit it, but he was right. He has his venom. I don't. So I just sat there and glared at him.
"Hmm," He, Uran, (weird name for a RainWing,) said. "I see the resemblance between you and Glory."
I wanted to say, don't say her name with your traitorous mouth, but I couldn't.
Instead, I turned my gaze on Glory and the others. They have started to notice that I was no longer present. Glory was shouting my name, sending dragons out to find me.
"They're moving," the other dragon said. Uran loosened his grip just enough for me to turn and see who it was. It startled me to see it a young female NightWing, sleek and shiny as Moon, but with no silver teardrop, and maybe a little older. "Come on,"
She disappeared just like a RainWing. Uran gave me a look that said, follow, or get hurt. And he dragged me into the trees.
