Anemone
Alright so there's a small problem in my life.
That something is Tsunami.
Yes, she is my big sister, but she's a serious competitor for the SeaWing throne.
Here's an unspoken rule: only females are allowed to take over the business, so my future was pretty much guaranteed.
Until Tsunami arrived.
I don't mean it like she arrived like she was born.
She is like, one of the oldest kid of Coral and Gill.
But during birth, she was taken away and nobody heard of her or her captors since.
The same thing happened to Glory, Starflight, Clay, and Sunny.
I'll let Tsunami tell you the deepest secrets, but my point is, my guaranteed life may not come until Tsunami takes over and then she dies then I'll be way too old to get the ownership of our family's business.
She, also, just won the title of the seaWing Princess in Dragon Academy.
UGHHHHHH
I buried my face in my pillow.
Not only that, but our tests to see our dragon form are going on today.
Every single new kid is going to this ceremony, with the royals going first.
What happens if my dragon form doesn't 'claim' me until the end of the year? It's not impossible that that happens.
It has happened a few times in history.
What happens if I'm the only one who doesn't get my dragon form today?
Tamarin poked her head into the room. "The ceremony is starting and they require a the presence of the SeaWing princess,"
I rolled off my bed and slipped on my pearl jewelry.
I walked confidently out the door and down the hallway. Lining the hallway was the entire school that was my level. They looked straight at me as I walked down the hallway to the auditorium, where the Princesses of the school were waiting.
Winter looked like the world's grumpiest Winter ever.
Tsunami bowed slightly to me and grinned.
Together, with the Princess's brothers and sisters, we entered the auditorium and walked down onto the stage with the rest of the grade following and gathering in their designated places.
There was an introductory speech and I was really nervous. Then, the Queens arrived.
It was important for them to come because they would start the rituals.
Queen Coral went first. She called every single one of us along with our brothers.
Tsunami squeezed my hand reassuringly, then as the oldest and the princess of the school, she went first.
Coral muttered the ancient language of dragons and touched Tsunami's forehead.
There was a silent beat. Then sparkling blue lights flowed from Coral's hand to Tsunami my sister vanished. In her place was a large dragon with a brilliant sapphire blue color.
A broad grin spread across Coral's face and she turned into a dragon as well.
The two of them looked nearly identical.
I felt a pang in my heart as I watched my older sister get hugs and applause from the crowd.
She even looked like a princess. There was a natural way she lifted her head that showed the world that she had authority.
Will I ever look like that?
The two of them switched back and Tsunami grinned at me.
Mother beckoned to me and I stepped up to her.
She did the same ritual for me, and to my relief, sparkles flew around me. They were blue, but they also had... gold?
All the queens stepped back with small gasps.
Then, my head lifted high above the ground. I spread my pink and blue wings.
I was beautiful!
:D
although not big, I wasn't worried.
But why were all the queens looking at me like I was disfigured?
"Anemone," Coral said.
"Anemone!" Tsunami cut in. "Woooow. You're beautiful AND you have magic!"
Magic?
I held out a claw.
Golden light flickered around it.
Now I remembered.
I stared up at the ceiling and changed back to human form.
I was an animus!
