Ember

I don't know what I was expecting, but I really didn't want to be stuck with a NightWing going over shift classes for an entire week.

I did kind of want to spend the weekend with my boyfriend, my second in command, but now with this stupid huge dragon waging war on our pitiful school, a relaxing weekend was kind of out of the question.

Don't you hate it when a dragon wants to find a bunch of minors.

Right now, Moon, the Princess of the NightWings, had courteously let us teach the SkyWings first.

I kind of didn't want to, since Peril was in that class, and I did kinda say that I would make her second in command, except I forgot to, and now if I messed up even once, Peril will think that Im unfit to be princess.

"You have to- NO- wish yourself into a dragon form," Moon was saying.

A chair came hurtling across the room and would have smashed into the white board if I didn't catch it and set it gently onto the ground.

"OI," I yelled. "Rock! No throwing stuff at the princesses!"

"That's the first time you've acknowledged me as the NightWing princess," Moon mused. "SPARROW! CONCENTRATE,"

"Three moons what are you talking about," I said.

By the end of this class, nobody was ready.

"Under strict training," I was saying to Moon. "It should usually take 2-3 days."

"We don't have that long," Moon said. She pressed her eyes together and I think she was looking into the future.

"First one to be able to shift tomorrow morning gets an entire box of pizza," she declared. A roar of noise erupted from the class.

We used the same strategies on the other classes as well.

Soon, we were both exhausted and trudging down the halls to the resting rooms..

We still had to report to the other princesses, so we entered the shared lounge.

The others were already there- most of them had stayed there.

Glory immediately started talking as soon as we sat down.

"Darkstalker is too proud of launch a sneak attack, being the snobnose he is," she said. "He'll let us know that he's here and ready to fight. Not like he can launch a sneak attack with his size,"

"So we don't need to watch out for spies flying over," Tsunami agreed. "If he thinks he's oh-so-strong, then he won't need to. Good. I've contacted the Queen and she'll send blacksmiths over tomorrow. we just need dimensions for the armor to fit," she turned to me and Moon.

"Hopefully by tomorrow some kids will shift," Moon said. "Actually, I'm pretty sure. So that works out perfectly,"

"Don't worry about the resources," Winter said.

"So now we rest," Sunny said, flopping back onto a couch. "Tomorrow's an even bigger day than today,"

The blacksmiths have arrived, just as queen Coral promised. And our first dragons from the SkyWings, NightWings, and SeaWings have emerged. Moon believed the rest would have some by the end of the day.

Half the blacksmiths went to work on weapons and half of them to work on armor and the other half on weapons.

By the end of the day, at least five kids from each tribe had shifted and had armor and weapons.

We reconvened at the end of the day again.

"Tomorrow, can Ember start teaching the dragons the way of flight and battle?" Tsunami asked.

"WOAH," I objected. "I haven't shifted yet and I have no experience,"

"Tsunami will be helping you," Glory said. "The blacksmiths know what they're doing now."

I thought about this. I would have to shift first, but that wasn't the main problem. I didn't know how to fight. I may bring down the entire school with fire.

"On it," I said.

Flying

Was

Amazing

I did manage to shift, and god I was AMAZING

I had WINGS and FiRe

Though I do need some help controlling the fire since I almost set the trees on fire, but we don't talk about that.

More than half the class managed to shift as well, so me and Tsunami were out on the fields in no time.

"DONT FLY INTO THE TREE," Tsunami barked. "THATS NOT THE WAY WE'RE GOING IN- WHERE ARE YOU GOING?"

"GET BACK HERE!" Someone bellowed as a dragon arrives away in the total opposite direction we were heading in.

"Dear moons," Tsunami muttered. "It's going to be a long week,"
