CHAPTER 47

"THIS IS where you live?" He asked as he looked around our house.

Hindi ganun kalaki pero it's presentable to look, fully furnished na din and may mini garden kami dyan noh.

"Yes..." I looked at him na nakataas ang kilay.

"It's nice" He answered.

Buti naman nice sa paningin mo.

Hmmmm.

"Dito ka lang ba? Hindi ka na ba papasok?" I asked.

"Can I?"

"Yeah. Of course." Agad naman sya bumaba ng sasakyan at sumunod sa akin.

"Is this Alex?" He asked habang tinitingnan ang mga baby photos nya na naka-display.

"He looks exactly like me when I was a baby"

Malamang, anak mo yan eh.

Duh.

"I've been meaning to ask you...his surname is Marcos... how? Who..?"

Tiningnan ko lang sya.

"Please don't tell me si Simon ang nakalagay na tatay sa Birth Certificate nya" He said.

Kinakabahan na yung itsura nya.

"Nope. It's you." I answered.

Na-confused naman sya.

"How?"

"He pretended to be you and sya ang pumirma ng birth certificate ng manganak ako"

I was busy fixing Alex and Anna's things.

"Umupo ka muna. Gusto mo ba magkape?" I asked him.

"Uh.. yeah..kung okay lang?"

"Oo naman, pero ikaw ang magtitimpla, maliligo muna ako sa taas." I told him.

Nagulat naman sya.

"Ako ang magtitimpla?" He was curious.

"Yep. I'm not your PA anymore. Pwede gawan mo na lang din ako?" I said bago umakyat.

"Nandyan sa drawer yung mugs and ikaw na bahala maghanap dyan ng kape sa kusina" I shouted.

"Althea.." I heard him pero di ko na sya pinansin.

Bahala na syang magtimpla ng kape nya.

After I took a bath, I checked Sandro sa baba.

He indeed made coffee.

"Sorry.. 3 in 1 coffee lang yung nakita ko eh" He said as he handed me a cup of coffee.

"Wala naman kasing ibang kape dyan kundi 3 in 1 lang but... thank you." I said as I took a sip of coffee.

Umupo naman ako sa harapan nya.

"Althea..." He said.

"Hmm?"

"I'm sorry." He said as he looked into my eyes.

Ramdam ko that this is the moment that we can finally talk.

Pareho kaming kalma.

"I'm sorry for hurting you, I'm sorry for abandoning you when you needed me the most" He started.

"I was so insecure back then.. I was scared that what happened between me and Simon was happening to us kaya inunahan ko na."

Nakikinig lang ako sa kanya.

"I chose the easy way. I'm really sorry."

"I'm sorry for not letting you explain your side." He said habang nakayuko.

"I hope you can forgive me and we can start all over again"

I cleared my throat before talking.

"I know what happened before also broke you. Nasaktan ka din."

He was gazing at me.

"I'm sorry about it but you know that Simon and I are just friends. In fact he became my best friend. Sila ni Vinny"

He nodded.

"I can forgive you Sandro but if you're asking if we can start all over again. I just can't promise you that."

"But don't worry hindi ko ipagdadamot si Alex sayo. Pero you will come to him. Hindi sya ang pupunta sayo" I made it clear to him.

Tiningnan nya lang ako.

"I'm so sorry Sandro, pero yan lang ang kaya kong ibigay sayo ngayon"

"It's more than enough Althea" He said.

Hinawakan nya naman ang mga kamay ko.

I felt a strange sensation when he touched me.

I looked at him and nagso-slowmo na naman sya sa paningin ko.

Bigla naman nagring ang cellphone nya.

"Oh thanked God." I mumbled.

Salamat sa Diyos naputol yung moment.

Bawal na tayong maging marupok Althea.

"What?" He asked.

"You should answer that" I said.

"It's Vinny"

"Hello bro. Where are you kanina pa kami naghihintay dito sa hotel? Ano? Gumawa na naman kayo ng kapatid ni Alex?"I heard Vinny's voice thru the phone.

Nabitawan ko naman yung baso na hinahawakan ko.

"VINNY!" He shouted.

"JK. Pero seryoso. Bumalik na kayo dito" He said.

Agad naman kami bumalik sa hotel.

Nagbihis lang sila and dumiritso na kami sa Crocodile Park dito sa Davao.

Alex was so fond of the animals na nakita niya.

Dahan dahan naman syang kinakarga ni Sandro, he is showing him the animals para ma-distract ito at hindi na mapansin na si Sandro ang nakakarga sa kanya.

Nakasunod naman si Tita Liza sa kanila.

Vinny is on video call with Crisette.

Kilala ko na din yung girlfriend nya, nadala nya minsan dito sa Davao noong binisita nya kami.

Si Simon and Anna naman, nanonood lang ng crocodiles.

"Thank you Althea" Sir BBM said habang naglalakad kami.

"For what sir?" I asked him.

"For giving us Alex. I know nasaktan ka ni Sandro but you really have a huge heart for us kasi hindi mo siya ipinagdamot sa amin"

"Thank you for forgiving Sandro."

He said.

Napangiti naman ako.

"Syempre naman po, apo nyo si Alex and he is lucky to have you as his grandparents"

He smiled at me and inakbayan ako.

"You should start calling me tito BBM nax, pamilya na tayo. Kayo ni Anna, you are part of our family na" He said.

"Oo nga pala, about that. We should start discussing your wedding"

Napahinto naman ako sa paglalakad.

"PO? ANO PONG WEDDING?" I raised my voice a bit.

Sino ba naman hindi magugulat sa sinabi nya.

"Yours and Sandro." He casually said.
