I was on the train. It was a busy Saturday afternoon down in London and I had my AirPods in, listening to yellow- the Jodie Whittaker children in need version. It was my favourite song sang by my celebrity crush. If I got this job then that means I, y/n l/n would be working with her! The one and only beautiful Jodie Whittaker. I smiled as it got to my favourite part of the song before taking a sip of my caramel latte I had bought at the train station. A voice on the intercom announced 'next stop, Kings Cross Station'. I took my AirPods out and put them back in the case which had a TARDIS protective casing on it. When the train came to a halt, I made my way towards the doors and moved my bag a bit further up my shoulder. I took a deep breath before getting off the train and heading to the audition centre.
When I arrived, I got the pass out of my bag to prove I had my audition. The lady greeted my warmly and pointed me in the right direction to the room I would be in. I sat down outside the room next to a woman with a blonde bob. I couldn't quite see her face and then I sniffed probably a little too loudly. She span around, a slight bit startled and I felt my face go red when I saw her. It was Jodie..
"Hi! Im Jodie. Nice to meet you!" She said, smiling at me warmly.
"Oh um.. hi, I'm y/n. Sorry I'm so nervous" I replied, still blushing
"Don't be nervous! I don't bite." She said and laughed.
"No I'm not nervous of you! Im auditioning for something and my mind has gone blank."I said whilst fidgeting with my script.
"Phew! That's a relief. What are you auditioning for? Maybe I can help you prepare?" She asked, grinning.
"Doctor who! It's my favourite TV show of all time. You don't have to but that would be a massive help!" I remarked, starting to be a bit more natural.
"Wait are you auditioning for the part of Lucy?" She asked me.
"Yeah I am.. why?" I said with a puzzled look on my face.
"No reason! What's the part your doing?" She quickly changed the subject..
"Ok.. it's the part where she first meets the doctor." I said excitedly.
"Great let's practise the lines?" She asked me.
"Yeah of course!" I replied.
We ran through the scene a couple times and I was having a really good time with Jodie before a man opened the door and called my name. I got a rush of adrenaline and stood up before putting the script back in my bag.
"Chris, do you mind if I do the scene with y/n? I've been running through it with her and thought it would be a good idea" Jodie asked politely.
"I guess you can give it a go!?" Chris answered.
Wait Chris! As in Chris Chibnall! I was standing amongst the writer of series 11 of doctor who. My favourite so far! Jodie led me into the audition room and who I presumed to be the casting directors were all sat on Chairs with clipboards. The classic exam look. Jodie held my hand and gave me a comforting smile when she saw I was nervous.
"Right, y/n take it from the start of scene one please." One of the directors said.
A/n: if anything is in italics that means it's in the doctor who world so in the next part Jodie and y/n will be performing the scene but it will be from the doctor who perspective. Sorry if I can't explain it right!
I struggled in the chair I was strapped to as some kind of alien paced around close to me. It was muttering something about a way of killing me under its breath and I felt myself go stiff. All of a sudden, a strange swooshing noise filled the air. It sounded a bit like a vacuum cleaner I guess but then a blue police box appeared out of thin air. I scrunched my face in confusion as a woman stepped out.
"Sorry about the mess!" She said to the alien as she had landed on one of the chairs in the room.
"You are not welcome here." The alien said with a robotic kind of voice
"Well I'm here! Wait who are you?" She said looking at me.
"Lucy! And you?" I answered
"I'm the doctor! Nice to meet you Lucy! Now let's get you out of here" she said whilst tinkering with some sort of device which trapped the alien in an air compressor.
"Uhhh.. where am I?" I asked her.
"You're on a planet called Yarshidle" she said before releasing my cuffs with some sort of device.
"And that's a wrap. Well done y/n" the director said.
