No time like the present

The party- part 2

As you opened the doors you realised this was your only chance to tell Jodie how you truly felt. Well not the only chance but if you didn't tell her sooner or later nothing would ever happen between the two of you.

The creaking sound of the hinges drew the eyes of everyone in the room and a sense of awkwardness lingered in the air. You gulped and stepped forward.

Jodie was at the side of the room sat at a table alone but when she saw you walk in, her face lit up with pure joy.

"Y/n!! You made it!" She said and ran over to you.
"Yea yea I'm here!" You said, finding yourself staring lovingly into the infinite beauty that were her eyes. After snapping out of your trance, you hugged her and  inhaled the perfume she is wearing -lavender and honey-.

"You look absolutely stunning y/n!" She said smiling.
"Aww thank you! Not so bad yourself!" You said back to her, winking.
You saw a small blush creep onto her face and she gently smiled at you.

"Do you wanna go get drinks??" She asked.
"That sounds great!" You answered. She smiled gladly at your response and grabbed your hand, leading you over to the bar. A tingly feeling ran through you and you felt a flutter in your stomach.

After arriving at the bar, you told Jodie about how Ava had come back to see Mandip and how they were so happy to see each other. Jodie smiled along at your story and you couldn't help but admire her.

You both had a couple drinks that weren't too strong but still gave a bit of fire within you. It was a very awkward atmosphere until Jodie reached out for your hand, taking it within hers.

"Y/n, would you like to dance with me?" She asked, slightly nervous.
"I'd love to." You answered, beaming at her.
"Brilliant!! Let's go!" She took you to the centre of the dance floor.

Catching your eye at the entrance was Ava and Mandip, you gave them a knowing look to speak with the DJ about the song choice and they understood the messsge before running over to the DJ booth.

"A sky full of stars" by Coldplay started to play

Jodie smiled at you before placing one hand on your waist and the other on your shoulder, you did the same and leaned into her, embracing her warmth. She felt like home. An insane amount of comfort washed you away like a tide and you couldn't help but look at her lips.

You both slowly started to dance to the music. Not caring about anyone else in the room.

You felt the gaze of the room on you as everyone else cleared the floor, Mandip and Ava knew what they were doing and had clearly planned this.

You and Jodie looked into each others eyes and she started to sing the song gently, it was such a soothing sound.

'I don't care, go on and tear me apart'

'I don't care if you do, ooh-ooh, ooh'

You could feel the tension between you and knew what was about to happen.

You both started to move in together, before she finally closed the space between your lips.

'I think I saw you'

It was such a magical feeling and you never wanted it to end, she was so gentle and moved her hand to the back of your head. It seemed like the kiss went on forever before she finally pulled away. The whole room was cheering and Jodie smiled at you, it was the most genuine smile you'd ever seen and you put your heads together. Laughing and smiling.

A/N- FINALLY!!! Ahhh this chapter was so so so fun to write!!! I absolutely love the song 'a sky full of stars' and thought it was the perfect song for this moment!! I can't wait to write the next chapter!!!
