No time like the present

A/n- hey!! It's meeee, your faithful writer :) thank you so much to anyone reading this, the last time I updated this book it had 200 reads, it now has 300!!! It's mental so thank you so much and please check out the pirates of the Caribbean book I'm writing if you like that kind of thing. Anyway, enough from me enjoy the chapter!!!

"No reason" Jodie said.
"Ok... " you replied, as your face heated up.
"What time is work??" She asked you.
"Ummm let me check." You grabbed out your timetable and glanced at todays date. "SHIT ITS IN 20 MINUTES!"
"Oh no, let's go!!" Jodie said before grabbing your hand and running towards the train station.

Time skip to work

Jodie pulled you through the door and you both checked in with 1 minute to spare.
"God where were you guys!" Mandip said, running up and hugging you both.
"Sorry we went for coffee! We're here now though!" You said smiling at her.
"Uh, Chris, tosin and brad are upstairs we are gonna do this table read of the first episode. I just did my part but it's you two next!" Mandip told you both.
"Ok great thanks!" Jodie said.
You both started walking upstairs and the silence was very awkward before Jodie broke it.
"So.. who is it that you like y/n??" She asked.
"Oh- um. It's just this person.." you said, nervous.
"Ok. Do I know them?" She asked.
"Uh yea, yea you know them." You smiled. Not wanting her to know that it was her you liked.
You reached the floor where you were heading and chris was stood outside a room looking at his watch.
"Hey Chris we're here!" Jodie shouted over and waved.
"Oh there you are!! Follow me inside and grab a script!" He lead you into the room and you saw tosin and sat down next to him.
"Oh hey y/n, how's things?" He asked you.
"Yea things are good actually thanks, you?" You asked him before Jodie sat down next to you.
"Same here!" Tosin said, smiling at you then starting to talk to brad.
You and Jodie had a short conversation before chris sat down at the top end of the table and handed everyone the script:

Series 12, Episode 1: the new girl.

You opened the script and the very first scene was the doctor in the tardis. Chris explained how he would fill in for Mandip as she had some important things to work out and she had finished her table read earlier.

Time skip: table read over

"Ok, that was great well done everyone and y/n, the emotion in your voice in scene 4 was brilliant well done." Chris congratulated you and that made you feel so much more welcomed as you were only a new member of the cast.
"Hey y/n you're still going to the party right??" Tosin asked on the way out.
"Yea I am, I'll see you there!" You told him before saying goodbye.
It was just you and Jodie left and you still both had the bags with your outfits for the party in.
"Jodie you wanna come over to mine for a bit? To get ready for the party?" You asked her, really hoping she would say yes.
"I don't know.. I need to sort out this whole breakup thing and I might just go speak to him. I mean, it's not like I didn't want things between us to end, I just don't want it to end toxic." She replied, looking guilty.
"Oh well, that's fine I understand. See you at the party!" You told her, smiling.
"Yea I am sorry by the way we'll have to hang out some other time but I'll see you later!" She gave you a hug and a warm smile before walking away.

You turned around and headed back towards the train to get to the hotel.

A/n- I hope you enjoyed the chapter. It's quite short but I will make for it in the next one. What do you think is gonna happen at the party?? Sorry for any spelling or grammar mistakes I'm on a car journey at the moment so it's difficult to write!
