No time like the present

Taxi

A/N - so any of these "on set" chapters will basically be chapters where Doctor who is being filmed etc so there will be many parts, and won't be back to back. Just wanted to make that clear haha. Enjoy reading!!

Today was the first day of filming! And in the lead up to Christmas, the air was starting to get colder so most of the filming was being done indoors at Wolf Studios, Cardiff, meaning you had to move all your things there. All the crew were brought to Cardiff last week, so everything was now set up and ready to film.

Once again, staying in a hotel, you left your room. Heading down to knock on Mandip's door.

Knock knock knock.

"Yeah? Who is it?" Mandip said. However you swear you heard another voice in there.

"It's just me, can I come in?" You said back to her. You and Mandip had gotten to become really close friends these last couple of days and made a routine of sitting in each other's rooms and chatting before heading down to get your makeup and hair done. Jodie even sometimes joined.

"Yess of course!" Mandip said, and you heard her moving closer to the door.

The door opened, Mandip was there, and Jodie was sat on the floor not far behind her, beaming at you. You couldn't help but smile back.

"Hey Jodie." You grinned

"Hi y/n! Sorry I got here first today." Jodie teased, standing in front of the doorway, blocking your path. You could swear she was looking at your lips...

"Oh shut up and let me past." You smirked, placing your hands on her waist and moving her gently aside. She blushed profusely at the contact but you didn't see because Mandip all of a sudden embraced you In a big hug.

"Woah what's that for?" You said, hugging her back.

"Just thought you needed it." Mandip said, smiling softly.

"Oh, thank you!" You said back, glad to know someone thought about your feelings, it meant a lot.

"How long have we got till the taxi arrives?" Jodie asked.

"Bout 10 minutes." Mandip looked at the clock and answered Jodie's question.

10 minutes later

"I'm so excited oh my goddd!!" You squealed, running down the corridor towards the exit of the hotel.

The studios weren't far from the hotel, if you got a taxi. The journey took roughly 20 minutes.

Once you were in the taxi, you asked the driver if you could play your playlist called "set" that you Mandip and Jodie had all contributed to the day before. He said that was fine so you pressed play. Blasting the music at full volume.

After around 10 minutes had passed, the song A sky full of stars - Coldplay came on and you instantly blushed, feeling Jodie's eyes on you. This was the song you shared a kiss to!

Things had been a bit awkward between you and Jodie since the day in her apartment but neither of you wanted to address it. There was very clearly tension between the two of you, but a good tension. You and Mandip had a discussion about it yesterday morning, she said "one of you has to make a move sooner or later or she'll flip a lid". There was definitely flirting going on but you couldn't tell if Jodie just did it all to get her mind of of Chris.

Not daring to look at Jodie. You looked out of the window, quietly singing to yourself.

Jodie's pov:
Me, y/n and Mandip were all in the taxi on the way to set, listening and singing along to the playlist we made yesterday of all our favourite songs or songs that remind us of each other. The song A sky full of stars - Coldplay came on and all of a sudden, y/n shifted her body to face away from me and Mandip. I tried to look at her, but she just refused to even meet my eyes. Mandip gave me a puzzled look and I returned it.

Why wouldn't she look at me? I mean, this was our song. The song we kissed to a couple weeks ago at that party. What if she regretted it? What if she was just playing with my feelings? Or meant it all as a joke?! No. She wouldn't do that. Would she? She has been flirting with me a bit, but what if she didn't mean it. I do like her.. and I know I shouldn't since it's only been a little since the Breakup with Chris. To be fair he cheated on me so why am I even bothered! But I really do like her. And she's so so beautiful. More than anyone would ever know.

I haven't even told Mandip any of this, and I always tell her everything. But not this. Not the fact that I have a raging crush on our best friend. It's fine. I'll just, talk to her at some point, I don't know when, but she'll have to talk at some point because we have scenes together today. So she can't just ignore me? She was fine this morning? I'm spiralling. And getting slightly panicked. It's fine though. I'm fine.

Mandip's POV:
What the hell is going on between these two, I swear they were so, so close to getting together like a week ago and now they're refusing to even glance at each other when their song comes on! I do feel bad for y/n. She thinks Jodie doesn't like her, but judging by the look on Jodie's face right now, how worried she is about y/n, I think y/n is wrong, and Jodie most definitely does like her. I don't dare speak, I don't want to be the one to break this awkward silence!

Y/n's POV:
Thank god another song came on. It was now The Man - Taylor Swift. You absolutely loved this song and couldn't keep not singing. Jodie and Mandip clearly thought the same thing because all three of you started singing at the same time, the whole song, flawlessly. After the song was over, the driver turned down the music and told you that you were pulling into the studios now.

After getting out of the car, you got your tote bag with everything you needed for the day out of the boot. Jodie briefly made eye contact with you before looking in the other direction. You took a deep breath and walked the opposite way, away from both of them.

"Y/n wait!" Jodie called, beckoning to Mandip to go in so that she could speak to you.
