Chapter 28

Jimmy;

As I brought all our bags inside, I went back to the car for Sarah. The aspirin hit her hard and besides I don't want to wake her up.

I carefully lifted her in my arms, pulling her close to me as I made my way into the house. I walked in the living room and I slowly laid her on the couch. She had a distressed look so I bent down and placed a soft lingering kiss on her forehead. Hopefully, it works.

Her face softened and I smiled to myself before walking to the kitchen to grab a drink.

Sarah;
I sat up and looked around the unfamiliar room.

How did I get here? I pulled my phone out and looked at the time 10:12pm.

"Hey," he greeted softly as he walked in with two glasses of water. "Hi," I replied.

He handed me the glass and took a seat beside me.

"Are they here yet?" I asked, he shook his head, "Not yet."

I nodded and placed the glass back on the coffee table. I stood up, feeling a bit light-headed.

"Where's the front door?" I asked, "take a left." He answered. I nodded and did what I was told.

I opened the front door and walked out, the wind giving me goosebumps. I pulled something out my pocket and tossed it unto the grass. It was a motion sensor. I scanned the area and I didn't see anything unusual so I went back in.

As I was making my way back to the living room, my phone started buzzing.

Trevor:
Traffic is a bitch, will be there in an hour.

I shoved my phone back and looked for Jimmy.

"Jim?"

No answer.

"Jimmy?" I called out once again and this time I finally heard his voice.

"Im out here."

I followed his voice and saw him standing in the patio, staring at the starry night sky.

He looked at me and smiled. He motioned for me to stand beside him.

"Its beautiful." I said as I looked at the ocean, not a few meters away from us.

"It is."

I can hear faint music coming from his iPod on the table.

We stared at the night sky in awe not until a gust of wind blew.

"You cold?" He asked. I nodded, "A bit."

He looked around before looking at me.

"I hope you don't feel weird..." He said as he walked behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close.

In all honesty, I loved it.

A familiar beat started to play and I listened.

High dive into frozen waves where the past comes back to life
Fight fear for the selfish pain, it was worth it every time
Hold still right before we crash 'cause we both know how this ends

Im falling in love with a man Im not supposed to fall in love with. Im here to work, not to find love. I don't want to get hurt anymore.

I wish you didn't cause things would've been easier.

I could simply ask for a replacement but no, I stayed. Im staying cause my heart wants to. My stupid broken heart wants to be with you.

Should we go for it? Is this the fate I tell you about? Is this meant to be? ... Are you the one?

It cuts deep through our ground and makes us forget all common sense

Here I am, standing in your embrace, my heart and my mind arguing. Who do I follow?

I glance at you to see you staring at the distance, your eyes twinkling.

"All I need is a yes, Sarah." Jimmy whispered. I looked up at him.

"I'll treat you the right way and the way you deserve."

I looked at his eyes, searching them for answers but I just get lost in them.

What would It feel like to wake up next to those everyday?

Sarah, don't.

What will it feel like to be in your embrace, everyday?

Sarah, stop.

What will happen if I say yes?

Don't do this.

"Jimmy,"

He looks at me, sadness in his eyes, he drops his head in defeat, " I know... I get it... I'll wait."

I shook my head, "Yes."

Sarah, you dumbass.

Do it.

He slowly lifts his head, "What?"

I pull him in for a kiss, putting all of my damn emotions in it.

I pulled back and looked at him, "Yes."

He smiles and lets out a little chuckle.

He cupped my face with his hands and stared into my eyes.

"Finally." He smiled before crashing his lips unto mine. I wrapped my arms around his neck and deepened it.

As we broke for air, our foreheads touching each other.

"Are you sure about this?"

"Screw the police." I smirked and kissed him again.
