Jimmy's Apartment, New York
May 26
12:08amSarah:
Well, my brother slept on me, that's for sure. I threw my phone on the bed and let out a sigh.
"Sarah?" Jimmy asked from behind the door.
"Yea?" I asked as I opened it. He stood there with a bag of chips and a bottle of beer. I looked at him with a confused look.
He chuckled, "Wanna watch a movie? I figured you were still up so I took my chance... Please?"
I narrowed my eyes at him as he tried his best not to laugh.
"Suuuure..." I answered. He smiled and nodded, "Last one there is an asshole."
"I already am." I smirked. He stopped and turned around, "Touchè."
I laughed and followed after him to the living room. But before we even got there, I called for his attention, "Jimmy,"
"Wha?"
"What's this?" I asked pointing to the floor. He squinted his eyes at it and walked closer.
"What?"
"Look closer, don't you see it?" I asked once again.
"I don't see it!"
"Sike!"
I laughed and sat on the couch, "Who's the asshole now?" I asked with a smile.
"That was unfair!"
"That's how life is, boy."
He laughed and sat beside me.
"What are we going to watch?" I asked, he shrugged, "I don't really know. What do you want to watch?" He asked.
"Hmm. What about The Switch?"
"Jennifer and Jason?"
"Yea.. I mean, If you want something else.. Go ahea-"
"No, its cool." He chuckled and went to set it up.
After a few moments, the movie started and he came back to his seat beside me.
"Here." He said as he popped the beer open and handed it to me.
"Thank you but I can't drink." I told him, he shook his head, "Then let's share... I can't drink either." He laughed. This bitch.
I smiled and shook my head as we both fixed our eyes on the screen.
I glanced at him and seeing him so focused was just... Adorable.
This was going to be a long night.
-
"What time is it?" Jimmy asked as the credits started to roll.I glanced at the clock that was mounted on the wall, it was already 1:50.
"1:50."
"Damn," I heard him chuckle as he rubbed his eyes.
"We finished the chips and the beer."
"I need to workout... Im getting doughy-er."
I shook my head, "What are you talking about? You're not!"
"Really now?" He smirked.
"Wait. Now that I've thought about it... Maybe."
The two of us laughed, "Well there goes self-esteem!" He added as he tried to look sad.
I shook my head, "No, seriously, you don't need to work out."
He flashed me a grin, "That's good to hear."
I ended up looking into his eyes. I just realized, they were distinct. They were a different kind of brown. They were something nice to look at. Or is it just the beer?... I don't think so.
"You don't hear that very often?" I asked not breaking my gaze.
"Not really." He replied, also not breaking his stare.
You've had your time staring at them, now, look away, Sarah.
I can't.
Sarah, look away.
I noticed us inching closer... And closer.
Look. Away.
"Though, its nice to hear it from you..." He whispered, our faces inches apart. He looked down at my lips and back into my eyes.
Don't. Please...
The next thing I felt was his lips on mine. It was surreal. It was different. I never felt like this before. I didn't want to pull away... Why? Because, I loved it.
I felt his hand caress my cheek as we pulled back but our foreheads still touching each other.
But no. It cannot happen. It can't.
"Jimmy.. It can't. It can't happen."
I didn't even wait for his reply or for what he has to say. I stood up, and looked at him, he still had his eyes closed.
It was just a kiss, it was nothing. It was the beer's fault.
"See you later." I mumbled before walking back to my room. I closed the door and jumped into bed.
It was nothing.
