Introducing Liam

Lexicon College of Science and Technology, New York City

During the lunch break, Liam sat down on one of the benches that were kept in the big open field outside the cafeteria. All the students in the college were either eating, gossiping, or were busy scrolling their phones. But Liam was writing down the notes in his notebook as he missed the last two classes because of the hectic schedule of his part-time job at Casa Del Cibo, a fancy restaurant in downtown New York City.

"But listen to me Myra, I can keep you happy and I promise to do all your notes. Just give me your number, please", he heard his best friend Grant telling Myra, a regular girl who happens to be in one of the classes with Grant and Liam.

With a frown, Grant came and sat opposite the bench to Liam, rested his arm on the table, and looked directly at him.

"That's so not fair, you know that!", said Grant in a gutted tone.

"Not fair what? Myra refused to give you her number. That's why?", asked Liam in a sarcastic voice with a little smirk.

"Exactly! You know what Liam, I really don't understand why girls keep running away from me. Do I look that bad?"

"They run away from you because you act like a creep around them. It is so obvious how you follow them frantically just for the most basic thing they do."

"But that girl, Myra, she reacted wow in my photo. What is that supposed to mean?"

"It means that she wowed your picture, and nothing else."

"But without any reason, do you think she will do that?"

"Look bro, I am telling you this as a best friend. Please don't take offense. Just because she reacted to your picture, gives you no right to start following them like this in real life. It's fucking creepy."

"I know you're my best friend, and so as my friend, I wanted you to support me. But here you are, just lecturing me about these ethics and morals. Do you even know that I never even had my first kiss yet? I am 20 and still a virgin."

"Everything will happen at the right time. You don't have to worry about it."

"Yeah, it's very easy for you to say this. You are rich. Your daddy and mommy can literally arrange you a date with the richest heiress of NYC. But here I am, a typical hillbilly, who is here in the city to study and fulfill my parents' dream."

"Exactly bro. You are here to study and not chase these girls like they are some trophy. So study well."

"Fine. Whatever. I'll go get something to eat."

"Yeah, you must be extremely hungry running after girls all day."

"Shut up bro", said Grant and he headed towards the cafeteria and bought lunch for him and Liam.

After the break was over, they both went to attend their respective classes.

Liam Garcia is a 20-year-old boy, very handsome and kind-hearted. He has naturally black hair and bright brown eyes, like a crystal. He is the son of a famous fashion designer, Amber Davis, and her husband, Yulian Garcia, the owner of a huge publication in the USA called Garcia Publications. Since a very young age, he has been an extremely well-behaved child, even though he grew up in immense wealth and glamour. He never allowed all the riches to spoil him, and stayed in strict discipline.

When he was 10, Yulian and Amber decided to part ways from the marriage because of the lack of time for each other, and it felt like they both were competing against each other in terms of earning. When Liam heard that their parents are getting divorced, he got so sick and since then, started having anxiety. However, they both convinced him to stay strong and promised that they will be there for him whenever he needs them.

After the college was over, Liam waited outside the college gate for his car to arrive. On other days, the driver was always on time, but as it was the fall festive season, he got stuck in the traffic that day. Liam waited for about 15 minutes and finally, his car arrived. The driver came out of his seat, opened the car door of his Mercedes Benz, and Liam sat on the backseat.

After about 25 minutes, Liam reached home and as he entered his house, he saw Amber and her boyfriend, Darien, working on some files as they both are not only dating each other but also business partners. Just as Amber saw him, she asked smiling, "How was the college, my dear?"

With delight, he said, "It was a good day, mom. Umm and hello Mr. Darien."

Darien looked at Liam and said, "Hello son. I hope you are doing well."

"Absolutely yes. I am doing great. I think I should head to my room and get changed or else I will be late for the job."

"Ok son. Be on time for dinner", said Amber and she continued checking the files with Darien.

After 8 years of getting a divorce from Yulian, Amber started seeing Darien Matthews, who owns a textile industry called Thread Union. It has only been two years that they knew each other, and started dating just six months ago. At first, Liam did feel uncomfortable with Darien, as he kinda gives a very cold look to Liam, but thinking it was his mother's choice, he started to care less about their relationship.

Liam rushed to his huge and white painted bedroom, took off his white shirt, pink sweatshirt, and grey chinos that he was wearing to school, and wore the red Casa Del Cibo t-shirt and a pair of dark jeans, and wore the same white sneakers that he wore to college, and headed downstairs. As he was in a rush, he didn't even look at Amber and Darien and just exited the house saying, "Bye mom. See you later."

He took out his bicycle from the garage and speeded towards his workplace. Although he is rich, he doesn't like to show off and obviously, he cannot go to work with his Mercedes Benz. It will make him look richer than the owner of the restaurant, which will most likely create trouble for him.

Being extremely kind and well behaved, he is loved by his colleagues a lot, and also being very down to earth and humble with the customers, even his boss likes him.

He usually finishes his shift at 8 pm and then returns back to his huge mansion with his bicycle. Most of the time, Amber eats the dinner already as she cannot wait till 9 pm, but sometimes she does wait for Liam to come and they have dinner together. Sometimes Darien joins them too.

That night, Amber was not home and he asked his maid, Dahlia, the whereabouts of his mom. She answers, "Madame Amber is out with Darien sir for dinner in some hotel and she said that she will arrive late at night."

As Liam expected Amber to be home, he was kinda sad knowing that she isn't, but it is not the first time since this happened. After dating Darien, Amber is always with him most of the time. So he tells Dahlia to serve him quickly so that he can go do his college assignments and sleep.
