Kiara's House
"Is it necessary that we watch this same movie every year?" asked Hannah as she and Kiara were watching Miracle on 34th Street.
"Obviously, it is my favorite Christmas movie, so we need to watch it", says Kiara.
"It definitely is. Well, I forgot to tell you something, Kiara."
"What is it?"
"Police came to our college today."
Just as Kiara heard that she choked on potato chips and coughed. Hannah handed her the bottle of water, and asked, "Are you fine?"
"Yeah, I-I am fine. Why did they come there?"
"I don't know. They just went directly to Mr. Marano. Maybe it is some kind of legal issue, IDK"
"Yeah, maybe. But did nobody find out why?"
"Maybe someone found out, I don't know. Anyways, why do we need that, right?"
"Yeah, you are right. We don't need that", said Kiara, and they both continued watching the movie.
After an hour, a maid came to Kiara's room and said, "Kiara, your dad is here. He wants to meet you."
"What is he doing here?" asked Kiara as she started to get tense.
"I think I should leave", said Hannah, as she got off the bed, wore her shoes, took her handbag, and went downstairs.
Kiara also got down from the bed, wore her slippers, and headed downstairs.
"What are you doing here?" asked Kiara as he approached her dad.
"I just wanted to see you", said Darien. "I just wanted to meet my daughter."
"The daughter, you vowed never to see again. You came to meet her, Mr.Matthews?"
"Kiara, don't be so rude. I know you are upset with everything, but I am still your dad right?"
"I always called you dad. When you left mom, I never questioned you because you promised me that you will never get married again. And look, here you are almost getting married to someone very soon."
"I know you are upset regarding this, but I won't stop loving you, Kiara."
"Then why did you break the promise?"
"Because if I marry Amber, then I can easily take over her company. I can own everything that Amber owns. I swear as soon as I take everything from her, I will leave her."
Darien walks towards Kiara and says, "I promise that this marriage is just a business tactic of mine. It won't mean anything to me."
"So you came here to invite me to your wedding?" asked Kiara angrily.
"You are my daughter, so you are cordially invited. But I wanted to talk about something else."
"What is it?"
"Do you know Liam Garcia?"
"What? Liam?"
"Yeah, he goes to your college, and maybe you both are in the same semester."
"I know him. What is it?" said Kiara trying to be as calm as possible.
"He just had this terrible accident, and police said that he was raped."
"Oh my God!", gasped Kiara and she sat down on the couch. "What are you saying, dad? He was, he was raped!"
"Yeah, do you know anyone who can do this to him?"
