The Wolf With Wings (Editing)

Part 20

I woke up in the bed alone, so after stretching my sore body I got up and brushed my teeth before heading down to look for my mate.

A chill ran down my spine as an uneasy feeling filled my gut. It was too quiet for the pack house and the scents I did smell were faint like they hadn't been here in a while. I kept walking heading to the back of the pack house to see if they were outside and my nose picked up the scent of blood.

I picked up my pace as I didn't know who was hurt and where everyone was. I quickly slid the back door open and gasped at what I saw. My eyes filled with tears and my chest felt heavy as it started becoming hard for me to breath.

I kept blinking making the tears slide down my face hoping this was just my mind playing tricks on me.

I fell to my knees as I saw my family my pack and mate in a bloody pile on top of each other. The blood dripping from their lifeless bodies. The grass had no green and was covered in my packs blood. I met my brothers eyes one by one, cold and lifeless. My heart shattered and I broke when I looked into my mates eyes.

I screamed with everything in me as it all set in. They were dead all of them were dead and I didn't stop it from happening. I fell to the ground as my body felt weak I couldn't move and all I could do was stare at the dead bodies looking back at me. The bodies of my loved ones, who could do this? Why would someone do this we haven't purposely made enemies to get attacked like this. My mind raced trying to find an answer trying to find someone to blame for the pain my heart felt. My body sunk to the ground feeling as if weight was being piled on until i was completely on the ground and not a single fiber in my body wanted to fight to stand.

I closed my eyes willing for death to take me and reunite me with my family but only darkness surrounded me. A couple of seconds later my eyes opened quickly and my body jolted up. I was covered in sweat my chest heaved as I tried to pull air into them. My heart hammered in my chest almost as if it was trying to escape. If I didn't know any better it felt like I was having a panic attack.

Pulling my knees close to my chest I tried to focus on my breathing and calming myself down. A warm hand on my back scared me for a split second before the sparks and warmth helped my attack go away. My breathing slowed back to normal and my body slowly relaxed as my heart rate also went back to a normal beat. I melted into the warm arms that wrapped around me comforting me.

"Are you okay princesa?" My mates soft raspy voice filled the silent room.

Taking in my surrounding I realized I was in my bed and my mate was here, I could feel my whole pack through our link and a breath I didn't realize I was holding escaped me as my eyes welled with tears and I leaned even more into my mate. I wrapped my entire body around him shifting so I sat in his lap. He didn't question or hesitate to wrap his arms even more around me if possible.

"It was just a nightmare mi amor its okay it wasn't real." he assured me with one hand in my hair combing through it and the other on my back rubbing comforting circles my body soon relaxed.

Once I had stopped sobbing and was able to form words I sat up so I was looking into his eyes.

"They.....You.... everyone was dead." I said the last word coming out with a sob as my brain replayed the images in my head of everyone's lifeless bodies. I laid my head on his chest as my eyes continued to flow with more tears.

"Shhh princesa its okay everyone's fine, I wouldn't let that happen I promise no ones gonna die while we are together." He wrapped both arms around me and kissed my forehead. My body once again melted against him as the images in my head slowly faded away.

"Im sorry." I apologized now feeling better than before and realizing I woke him up way to early the sun hadn't fully woken up itself.

"Mi amor you don't have anything to apologize for mi vida I would lose more sleep as long as I spend the time with you." he kissed me once again on my forehead and I let out a sigh and proceeded to clear my mind of those horrid images.

"I don't think either of us will be able to sleep once again." Jose started "So how about I get us some food from downstairs and you wait here?" He questioned wiping some of the tears off of my face and sitting me so our eyes locked. Nodding my head and sliding off of him I pulled the sheets back up to warm my body as my heat source was leaving.

He kissed my forehead once again and then headed down to the kitchen to get us some food. I wasn't really hungry but maybe some food might help my headache. After a couple of minutes of silence and not moving, my body being anxious and not being able to sit still anymore. I head out to my balcony and look up at the stars still present in the sky. The slight breeze felt nice and the sounds of crickets and birds waking up slightly early relaxed me. Sighing I let my mind wander random things with flashes of the dream still lingering then all of a sudden the stars fade and this white light surrounds me.

Unlike the last time this felt warm and I felt safe knowing this was just the moon goddess reaching out to me. I looked around for her but saw nothing this time I was in the forest nothing smelled the same or familiar.

"My child" turning expecting the moon goddess I saw a different woman. Not anyone I recognize nor feel familiar but I didn't feel any type of threat which was also weird.

"My child?" I questioned

Here you guys go lol another chapter I know it's been a loooongggg time since I last updated but I've been busy and I mean being an adult sucks smh I got barely any free time but I miss writing and all the comments y'all lovely people have been leaving makes me want to make time for it again so hopefully this chapter does well and I'll continue doing what I do so enjoy let me know how you guys like it or if it's complete ass 😁
