Chapter 19

We ran through the woods trying to pinpoint where the scream exactly came from when we smelt blood. I quickened my pace leaving Jose behind, the smell of blood putting me and my wolf on edge.

When I arrived I realized it was on the east border. As I looked around I saw a couple of dead wolves and one of the members of my pack who was bleeding from his front leg and a pack member from Jose who was also bleeding but on his side.

I saw a little girl that came from Jose's pack hiding behind a tree. I slowly walked toward her not wanting to scare her but surprisingly she ran to me and hid behind my front leg. She hugged it in fear as I sat on my two hind legs and placed my head gently on her.

They worked together to save this little girl, both members, even though originally from different packs, worked together to fight off rogues. This just proved to me that they could work together for the greater good of the pack, they could see through their differences when it needed to happen.

After making sure both men were not fatally injured and they would be okay I laid down on my belly so the little girl could get on me. After she got on we all headed back to the pack house where the rest of our pack was waiting. I once again laid down so the child could get off and immediately she ran towards her mother.

Her mother was relieved to see her child unharmed and quickly hugged her tightly in her arms. She looked at me and slightly bowed her head in respect and thanked me through the mind link before kissing her daughter on the forehead.

I shifted back, behind a tree and got dressed before joining the pack that had come out to see what happened. Immediately Jose was at my side, he held my hand as we walked into the pack house. We were greeted with Alpha and Luna as we walked past members from both packs. The further into the house we ventured the more we saw our pack getting along and starting to form a bond with each other that every strong pack has.

They were no longer two separate packs but one united pack. I smiled as some of the members who found their mates were all cuddles up and showing affection or getting to know them. I looked up at my mate who was also smiling and observing the pack we would both rule. He then turned to me and smiled even wider before leaning down and placing a tender kiss on my lips.

"This is our pack now," He said looking back at all the people in the sitting area

I leaned into him as I took it all in, the moon goddess knows what she's doing when she lets things happen. No matter what is to come I know that I can do anything as long as I have Jose next to me and our family behind us.

"This is our family now," I said looking back up at him and wrapping my arms around his neck

His arms wrapped themselves around my waist and he smiles at me and I smiled back. He slowly leaned down and brushed his lips against mine make me smile even more if possible.

"Don't tease" I said as I pulled him down fully connected our lips and enjoying the sparks that exploded as soon as our lips connected. My wolf howled in my head as she too enjoyed the contact with her mate.

We get to do this for the rest of our lives my wolf said

Yes we do I replied pulling away and smiling at him Yes we do
