Chapter 21

"Yes, you are my child." she repeated as if I offended her by not knowing who she was.

"Are you saying you are my mother?" I questioned looking at her to see if anything about her felt familiar "Prove it then?"

She looks at me baffled and almost offended I didn't just take her word for it. "You don't remember me?" she tilts her head questioning me then sighs

She shakes her shoulders gently before four wings come out if I'm not mistaken twice as long as mine. Two were black and two were white like mine and Derek's put together. "Can you bring Derek here?"

I wasn't fully persuaded that she was who she said she was until ten seconds later Derek appears not two feet away from me.

"Amber?" he questions closing the distance then looking around he locks eyes with the woman claiming to be out mother and his jaw drops as if he's seen a ghost.

"Mom?" he questions then heads over to her with his hands held out welcoming her to him. She smiled in response and welcomes him the same way.

"My child how have you been?" she asks and hugs him smiling warmly at him

"I've been good staying on the mission like planned." He responded then turned to me and held out his hand. Without thinking I walked to him and placed my hand in his he then pulled our mothers hand to mine and placed mine on top of hers.

There was a zing kind of like static electricity when they connected, I could feel my eyes change colors as my angelic side came to the front. My wings came out and Derek's came out in sync with mine. He held my other hand and then moms connecting us three together our wings moved on their own accord and connected each other like our hands.

They zinged and it was like something inside me opened up, like it was unlocked and this surge of power coursed through my body. My heart beat raced as my body was trying to contain the new power. After a couple minutes of me taking deep breaths and focusing my heart rate slowed and I looked at my brother who had this look of amazement on his face.

"Did you feel that?" I questioned releasing both his and my mothers hands

I took a step back and looked at my hands not fully believing what I had just felt.

"Yeah almost as if something inside opened and more power got released?" he responded not fully sure how to describe it either

"That is the rest of your powers. Half stayed with you and the other was locked away inside you until you two were ready to control both." Our Mother responded explaining what just happened.

"Derek has more control over his powers at the moment but you are catching up to him. Now both of you can train together with the new powers you've unlocked. You will need them in your near future." She turned her full attention on me now.

I tilted my head slightly in confusion and before I could open my mouth to question her she closed the distance between us and grabbed both of my hands. The look of concern and love with a hint of guilt made me stop my words and return the look of concern.

"That dream wasn't just a dream my love, you have the ability to see into the future. You don't have the practice nor the training to control it so for now it comes to you in dreams." She spoke soft and clear and my eyes widened in surprise at how she new about my dream.

"It's a vision" I said my voice cracking at the end at the realization of what I saw. It was the future it was going to happen. A chill ran through my body as my heart beat was in my ears my eyes blurry as I couldn't grasp it completely.

"The future is not set in stone and you can change it. The deaths of your loved ones can be prevented." she quickly reassured me probably seeing the tears and worry fill my eyes.

"How? How do I prevent that from happening?" I quickly questioned noticing Derek looking confused out of my peripheral vision

She shook her head no before saying "I do not know the answer and if I did I would not be able to tell you my love I am prohibited from meddling in peoples fates unless told other wise." she explained looking frustrated herself

"What is she talking about?" Derek questioned still confused on what we were talking about

"Ill tell you later I promise." I replied smiling softly at him in reassurance before turning back to our mother

"Now I must go you have to trust in each other and yourself you can do anything you put your minds too." She said encouragingly releasing my hand cupping my face then kissed my cheek lovingly. She let go then did the same to my brother who pulled her in for a quick hug which she returned.

They let go of each other then both turned to me. "I believe in you both and this isn't how I wanted this visit to go but sadly we are out of time. There's so much I wanna say to you both I missed out on so much. Maybe next time we see each other we can just catch up on everything that's been going on and everything that's happened?" She questioned looking at me hopefully.

I smiled at her before responding "Of course hopefully next time we will have more time to talk."

"Until next time then my loves" she said as she backed away and slowly disappeared leaving me and my brother alone.

"Ill be expecting that explanation when we wake up" he reminded me smiling at me as we too started to fade.

When I opened my eyes I was still on the balcony and it didn't look like anytime had past. As if to prove my point Jose walked into the room holding a plate of fruit and two cups of coffee.

"So I wasn't sure how hungry you were so I just brought some fruit and if you are hungry we could go down and I make you some breakfast whenever your ready princesa." he said as he looked around the room for me then realized I was outside.

He placed the food down on the little table I had outside then came up behind me and wrapped his arms around me. The feeling of comfort enveloped my body as he placed gentle chastise kisses on my shoulder all the way up to my neck until he kissed my cheek.

"How are you feeling?" He questioned wrapping his arms tighter around me if possible

"Better honestly, I wanted to say thank you again for being such a perfect mate" I said turning around in his arms so we faced each other

"I would do anything for you mi vida and being supportive is the least I could do for you." He smiled and placed a gentle kiss on my nose then my forehead before releasing me all together.

"We should drink this coffee and get something in your stomach to make you feel better yea?" he questioned picking up one of the coffee cups and held it out to me

I only nodded to him a smile still on my face and closed the distance taking the cup and a sip grateful for the warmth it brought.
