Chapter 7

Derek's POV

"So Alexis, let's get to know each other" I awkwardly said to her as I lead her to the couch.

After Amber insisted she was okay and went after her mate I decided it was a perfect time to go after mine.

After giving myself a pep talk in the mirror and having the twins laugh at me, I decided getting to know her first was a good idea.

"I was wondering if you were okay with me asking questions about you."

"What kinds of questions?" She immediately asked and raised an eyebrow at me

"Like favorite color, food, what you are and things like that." She stayed quiet for a while before looking at me unsure.

"Blue, Spaghetti, and I'd rather not tell you." she said hardening her gaze slightly as if telling me not to push my luck

"Okay.. How old are you?" I asked not wanting to push my limit

"Are you the only one that gets to ask the questions?" She asked getting more comfortable on the couch

"No you can ask me anything I am an open book." I said opening my arms for emphasis.

"What do you think about witches and demons?" She asked fully putting her attention on my reaction to the question

My eyes widened at the sudden bizarre question. I took a moment because demons and witches are two things I don't usually think about.

Shrugging I said

"As long as they don't bother me or my family then I don't have a problem with either of them although I should have an issue with the demon you know cause I'm an angel and all that." I said making a halo over my head with my hand and laughing

She smiled slightly before saying it was my turn.

This went on for hours before I thought I knew almost everything about her. We went to the kitchen in the middle of our questions to eat and I actually made her smile.

My wolf and I were so happy that our mate was allowing us to get close to her. I felt like she got a little bit comfortable around me and I loved it.

It turns our we have a lot of things in common and the things we don't have in common actually brought us closer together.

I couldn't have been any happier at this moment.

Amber's POV

After Jose and I were done with our "reunion" his pack returned to my pack house and rejoined my pack.

Currently I was outside with Abigail chasing her around in my wolf form while Jose was settling back in.

Abi squealed as I gently pushed her to the ground with my snout before licking her face.

Abigail pushed my snout away and I moved pretending she was strong enough before she ran towards the pack house.

I started taking steps towards her as she giggled with every step. We both got distracted by the door opening and my mate walking out.

Abigail quickly ran to Jose and he lifted her up in his arms.

"Jose you have to help me... Amby is gonna get me"

"We'll we can't have that now can we ?" Jose asked her and she shook her head no

"Quick shift to your wolf and scare Amby" she said smiling then growling and putting her hands up like she had claws looking absolutely adorable.
