Raizel walked deeper into the forest. He stopped, examining his surroundings. He was lost. Again.
It wasn't unusual for him to take a wrong route, due to the fact he seldom left the mansion. The problem, now, was that he did not know which way to go. He turned his head in the opposite direction. The direction from which he heard a soft sound.
Curious, he decides to follow the sound. The sound gets louder and louder as he approaches a cottage. With all the creepers hanging on the walls, he wouldn't have noticed it unless for the music which pleased his ears.
He walked towards the house that hid among the plants. The music was much louder as he peeped into the open door. The cottage was dark, the only source of light was the windows.
A woman, dressed in a light coral silk dress sat in front of a grand piano. Her fingers moved effortlessly over the keys, almost as if they were moving on their own.
The woman's back was facing Raizel, but he could feel the happiness she emitted. Chills went down his spine as he continued to listen to the musical tone the unknown woman played.
Raizel stood there, enchanted by the music. He had never heard such beautiful music ever in his life. He had stumbled upon Frankenstein playing the violin once, but that had been years ago.The woman stopped, letting out a sigh. His ears yearned for the music as he felt slightly sad at the end of the song. The woman got up, giving a clear view of the majestic white piano which stood in the middle of the cottage.
The woman, still facing her back at Raizel, walked away from the piano. She raised her hands, brushing off some of the dust from the wall- no, the shelf. The shelf was reaching up to the ceiling, filled with books. She carefully selected a book, flipping through the pages.
Raizel looked up in the sky, the sun was setting, an indication that he should return to his mansion. After a bit of wandering around, Raizel reached home to find a worried Frankenstein.
Raizel stared out of the window, thinking about the melody he heard yesterday at the cottage. He glanced towards the door, thinking about how Frankenstein would remain busy at this hour of the day.
Raizel walked out of the mansion, following the path to the cottage in hopes to find the lady playing the piano again. Must to his liking, she had been at the cottage. This time, she wore an elegant silver silk dress, her (h/c) (h/l) hair done neatly.
He listened as she played the same song again. Perhaps it was her favourite song, he thought. He listened to the beautiful melody as his eyes observed the way her hands glided over the piano ever so smoothly. She repeatedly played the song, the tune making Raizel think of nothing more than the woman who sat by the piano.
He would visit the cottage everyday, finding the woman playing the same song.
This was the 9th time he was visiting the cottage, but only this time, the cottage laid empty. He walked into the cottage, the sad silence taunting his wish of hearing the piano play. He walked over to the piano, touching it softly. It seemed so lonely without the woman.
He walked towards the shelves that were present on three of the four walls. Each shelf was containing hundreds of books, each waiting for a reader. Raizel touched the spine of one book, brushing off the dust. He opened the book, the yellow, wrinkled pages filled with words and a few occasional drawings.
It seemed like a storybook. The books seemed old, but the ink was not faded. This caught Raizel's attention. He picked up another book, written about the story of the friendship of a hamster and a squirrel. He flipped through the pages, his eyes admiring the neat handwriting and the skillfully drawn pictures.
