M-21 stared down at his palms. It was a full moon, the lunar calendar said so. Then... why?
Every time during the full moon, M-21 could feel his powers being much stronger than usual. It was easy to trigger his transformation by the smallest and most mundane acts.
It was different from the mythical werewolf transformation- and he was glad about that, he didn't want to transformation against his will and become a threat to those who let close.
But either way, he was told to preferably remain at home as much as possible- no need to go around accidentally transforming in the middle of a crowded street just because a car past by.

But... today was different. M-21 had taken a day off work... again... and he worried that some fantasy-loving, delusional kid would wander upon the truth. He couldn't always fall sick, go out of town, visit a distant relative nor get into a minor accident every month during the full moon.

This time was different because M-21 hadn't (accidentally) transformed- not even once. His usual transformation-streak was three times. Tao had counted. (He hopped no one noticed how most of the times he had been forced to transform because of a simple car horn- his already enhanced senses got more sensitive during these periods. For goodness' sake he could sniff up the food and correctly name most (if not all) of the ingredients used in the dish).

Neither had he transformed throughout the day, nor has he shredded his bedsheets (yet) by unconsciously having his fingernails lengthened into claws- he was glad for that too, but worried as well. Had his body grown weak- no, not a chance, never could. When Frankenstein himself was tracking the changes in his body, he had nothing to worry about.

Then, why did he feel so... lethargic? He would've rushed straight to Frankenstein, but since 'he was visiting a relative because said relative was ill', he couldn't show up at school. And he accidentally (definitely not because Takeo managed to startle him by soundlessly appearing behind him) dropped tea on his phone that morning. Tao had (quite pridefully) confirmed he could bring back the phone from the (digital) grave, but since he was rushing for work, M-21 will be able to get his phone started once Tao returned.

So now, M-21 was at home, bored. He sighed as he pushed his head down on the pillow on his bed, annoyed at not having the answers to his question immediately.
Still an hour until Takeo and Tao returned from the PC Cafe after dropping the kids off at their homes. About three hours until Frankenstein returns home from the piles of paperwork (M-21 could feel the distress of the blond since yesterday evening).

He could take his fourth nap for the day- he usually slept five hours a day, but today was an exception. But despite the lack of energy, he pushed away the blanket (quite lazily with his leg) and took a trip to the kitchen.

M-21 was glad he didn't react to the sound of the balcony door sliding open. He would have broken the teapot and his mug had he transformed, not to mention any additional damages if he did go 'attack-anything-in-sight' for a minute. It had happened before and Tao had repaired any broken things before Frankenstein could've noticed, though M-21 was sure the blond had noticed, just not pointed it out and let Tao deal with it.

The balcony door slid close. M-21 hadn't expected it, but neither was he surprised. A glimpse over his shoulder at the long silver hair to confirm his thoughts. Sure, M-21 agreed with Frankenstein's opinion of the not-an-intruder-but-any-eye-witnesses-in-the-neighbourhood-would-beg-to-differ, aka Muzaka, being loud and carefree, but he also did agree that the werewolves couldn't have a better Lord.

Though Frankenstein believed- and M-21 agreed- that Muzaka could just head in through the front door like any normal person. And that coming from Frankenstein, the last person who could be associated with the term 'normal', it said a lot. Like, a lot.

There really was no need for M-21 to bother checking if it had been Muzaka because: one, no sane normal person would climb a window. And, two, no insane person who choose the unique entry path would be able to survive the wrath of Frankenstein- other than Muzaka, that is. Frankenstein said something- whatever it meant- about it being a reminder of the 'old times'. And considering how old Frankenstein is, M-21 had no chance of pointing out how long ago was Frankenstein reminiscing of. It was a common occurrence when the gallery door slid open being accompanied by the loud "Raizel, I'm here!".
But the verbal announcement didn't come this time, though M-21 shrugged it off considering how Raizel wasn't at home at the moment.

M-21 selected another mug from the cabinets before continuing to pour the freshly brewed (instant) tea. (He was getting bored of the same drink, but didn't have much of an option, he couldn't drink coffee or hot chocolate without getting a stomach ache. The reason being his body increasingly becoming more werewolf than it had been before).

He turned to find Muzaka slouched over the sofa, eyes half lidded as he stared at the center table like it would grow wings and fly off if he took his eyes away from the furniture.
Muzaka was weird- M-21 had no doubt of it- but this time, he was weirder, it was concerning.
M-21 slowly set one mug in front of Muzaka before taking a seat across the other.

"It's happening to you too?" M-21 asked after taking a sip of the steaming drink.
Muzaka, who's eyes shifted from the table to the mug, took the ceramic into his hand, feeling its warmth as he answered with a hum.
"Seeing how much you've become like a werewolf," Muzaka paused to sip his tea, "I expect it's having the same effect on you."
"The same effect?" M-21 repeated, thoughts beginning to form as he wondered about the lethargic feeling both of them felt. "But the moon..."
"Right, you couldn't have known," Muzaka set down his empty mug. "A lunar eclipse," he said, watching as M-21 took a second to recall the phenomenon.
"It affects us just like how the full moon does, but the effects are the opposite."

M-21 nodded, taking in the new bit of information he received.
Feeling a wave of drowsiness take over him, he put down his mug on the center table. Once glanced at Muzaka, who sent him a smile, M-21 drifted off to sleep. Another nap wouldn't do any harm.

This was requested by NCWinters18!! Since the full moon triggers a transformation in werewolves, maybe the absence of the moon (to our eyes, of course) would drain the energy of a werewolf, or at least I think so😅

Honestly, I was planning on having Ashleen in this. Like an AU where Ashleen is alive and living in the Franken House and goes to school with the other kids and calls M-21 'ahjussi' despite how she's centuries older😆😆

I thought that would have been reasonable because Ashleen had grown till her young teens with her mother (who was a human) and so she'd basically have no idea about her werewolf traits and lunar phases and other werewolf stuff.
M-21 had his abilities grow a lot under the care of Frankenstein that he could be mistaken as a real werewolf (also, Frankenstein had mentioned that the data he had on werewolves were ancient, and from how he was shown to be after the mutants, it seems like he was more interested in Nobles as compared to Werewolves, so maybe he wouldn't have a lot of data on them).

I found both characters to be in somewhat similar conditions and thought maybe they both could bond over that. But it didn't really work out (and I even remembered that had Ashleen been alive she would've appeared to be around her early or mid twenties (I guess), and that would mean she couldn't call M-21 'ahjussi', gosh what a bummer😆)
