Dr. Loomis and Ben, we're still at the house keeping an eye out on the place to see if Michael would return. It was going on 10:30 and they still didn't see any sign of him anywhere and didn't hear anything on the radio, for a second they wondered if they should drive around to try to find him.

"I can't believe we've been here for almost three hours and still haven't seen him," Ben said.

He took out a cigarette that he was saving and lit it, to Dr. Loomis's hatred of cigarettes he rolled down his window to let the smoke pass.

"You better stop smoking those things before they kill you".

Ben looked over at him and blew the smoke in his direction.

"Not before Michael gets me," he said half-heartedly.

"Sheriff, Sheriff Ben are you there".

Somebody was calling for him over the radio. He grabbed the walkie-talkie to respond to the fellow deputy.

"Go ahead", he replied.

"Sir you have a visitor over here".

"Who? And where are you?".

"Gallup street and lieutenant Cole".

The name hit Ben with force, he started coughing up the smoke he inhaled from the cigarette, trying to catch his breath he almost dropped his walkie-talkie.

"He's there now?"

"Yes, sir he wants to see you now like right now".

"Shit, okay I'll be there in a few minutes".

He put the car in drive and drove the Gallup street.

"Who's lieutenant Cole?" Loomis asked.

"Our worse nightmare, this is going to be bad".

As they arrived on the street they saw lieutenant Cole talking to the deputies in the police cruiser, as he saw Ben approaching he let the deputies go. As the deputies drove off he stood in the middle of the road waiting for Ben to get out of the car.

"This is not going to be good".

Ben got out of the car and approached him.

"Bring out the Dr. too".

Ben held his head down and called out for Loomis to join him. As Loomis got out of the car and approached them he could see that Ben was nervous, this was the first time he had seen him nervous, and it showed just how serious this was. Loomis didn't have a concern of something of the worse but Ben did and that worried him.

"Lieutenant Cole I haven't seen you in so long, what do I owe this pleasure?".

"Well first off we can cut the shit and for you to stop trying to be a kiss ass".

The mood instantly went sore something he knew was going to happen but it was a shock to Dr. Loomis.

"I go on vacation and I get these calls from parents and people of authority that you and a doctor see out here trying to play cops and robbers".

"A lot has happened since you been gone sir, it's Michael Myers and I swear that we have everything under control".

"You riding around with a psychiatrist coming up short on the crime scenes is not what I consider under control".

"Sir, if I can just say a few things" Loomis said.

"I prefer if you didn't, now I don't know what comic book shit you two are doing but it's ending tonight both of you are off this case".

Ben's face grew red with anger and disbelief.

"What!, you can't do that this is our case this is our work!" He yelled.

"Now it's mine, now get the fuck out of here and take that old man with you".

"Come on Ben he's not worth it," Loomis said. He tried to push ben away back to the car but he kept moving closer to Lieutenant Cole.

"No fuck that, this is our work, and our blood sweat, and tears."

"Get out of here both of you, go home watch some Halloween movies or hell go eat some Halloween candy".
Lieutenant cole went to his car as Dr. Loomis tried to get Ben back to the car. Before he drove off he rolled down his window before they could get in the car.

"And I meant what I said if I see you two anywhere near the crime scenes tonight you're both done in this town, do you hear me? Both of you".

He drove off fast leaving them in the middle of the road angry and speechless. As Ben finally got back to the car he kicked off his rearview mirror in rage. Loomis disappointed himself had no words to comfort his friend and in a way, he felt this was his fault.

"I think I'll walk home tonight".

"No no it's okay I can drop you off".

"Ben it's okay, just get yourself home and I'll call you tomorrow".

"Alright alright and Loomis...thanks, everybody in this town looked at me crazy throughout all of this but I appreciate you sticking it out with me".

Loomis smirked, "you're a great cop Ben".

"I was a great cop a long time ago".

As he got in his car and left, Loomis proceeded his walk home. He had mixed emotions about the way everything happened, to get the case taken away from them after all those weeks of planning and examining it sucked, but the relief of having someone else take over was needed. Loomis always thought he would die trying to bring Michael down but with somebody new taking that role over to make it happen, it gives him a mental break and a time to reflect on things that happened over the weeks. But deep down inside he wishes it could've been them to do it. They owed it to everybody who fell victim Michael.
